Damage Estimate?

2020 Ranger XLT
Was hit on the interstate today by a lifted Chevy that lost control while swerving to avoid another car. I seem okay and he does too, but the truck isn't. Any idea how much this will cost insurance to repair (if they will repair it?). The door ca-thunks open and closed, and the B pillar is damaged.

I'm mainly glad I wasn't in my E46 today, otherwise I probably wouldn't be typing this right now.

10k minimum. At least the fender is easier to replace than a bedside. Doubt they put a skin on the door, less labor for a complete door is my guess. Vehicles are replaceable, you aren't. Glad you are okay.

Looks to me like it is the "A" pillar is the damaged one. If so you don't want it fixed. Structural integrity is compromised.

10-15k guesstimate to get it done properly. Be sure to take it to a reputable shop of your choice for an estimate first. Some of the contract shops insurance companies push you to will shortcut repairs. Be prepared to fight for diminished value if they repair it.

Looks like it kept you safe is the important part.

I'd say best option would be to replace everything under the roof rails. Check with your insurance company if it goes as totaled.

Hopefully you got the other guys insurance. That's a 'jack up the horn and put a new truck under it' repair.

The A pillar is in question. Would need to remove the fender and probably door to inspect the inner structure to make sure it can be repaired properly and be a safe vehicle.
Did your airbags deploy? That is a huge consideration for repair or deem totaled.

My guess is 12-14K, if not totaled...

More than that, last week I had a trailer swing out and got my tail light and its $4k they guy had good insurance so its all good, I get it back Tues. I got a rent a car too, they pointed out a few paint flicks that were not even part of it and said they will fix them too :)
if its more than one panel they total it....

Have to wonder where the world turned shit and repairing a minor ding and replacing plastic light cover and a seal started to cost 4k.

Even with inflation this should be like 200$ repair.

Looks like it will need a new cab if the pillar is damaged and that would be a possible total. Carfax will cause a problem if fixed and you decide to sell. The vulture AzScorpion can provide stripping advice if totaled ?.
