Well at 91k on my way home from a doctors appointment, I made a detour to the local ford parts counter. Code popped up and needed a replacement. Naturally all they had was the sensor with no hoses. Go home and 15 minutes later I swapped it out no issues. Move my truck so my son can play basketball, code is back. Eat dinner and decide to read codes. It was a different code.

Lesson learned, when replacing sensors plug them back in… ?

It happens to the best of us. I changed oil/filter on my wife's car. A week later she mentioned a strong smell from under the hood. The oil filler cap was exactly where I set it aside. Oil on everything. Only lost a few ounces but it was a first class mess.
Reality check told me I'm getting old. Local shop changes the oil now. $18 + oil and filter I supply.

When I was 15 I did the first oil change on my dads new truck. Swapped the filter, poured in oil, put cap on and closed the hood. Walked right into a puddle of oil. Opened the door and seen the drain plug right where I left it.

I can beat that, during an oil change a few years back i didn't notice that the gasket from the old oil filter was stuck on the engine, so when i put the new one on the whole double gasket didn't work very well... I think i sprayed about 3-4 quarts all over my buddies driveway... I don't recommend it, and i verify every time i pull the filter off that the gasket went with it

I remember Stacey David warning me about those on Saturday morning. It always stuck with me. He never said anything about the drain plug tho.
