We finally got decent snow, about a foot in total, so snow banks are about 3 foot here in Portsmouth.

But this last storm was about 8 inches of snow, followed by an inch of sleet, then rain for a few hours (warm higher up but the ground was below freezing with air temps around 32°), then another 4 inches of snow. Then a day of wind gusts up to 50 mph!

The trick was to get up the first snow before the rain. Even doing that, the sleet and rain made an instant inch-thick ice layer. The snow that fell later was easy to get up but that ice ... =\

Considering putting on the tire chains and spinning out in the driveway! =p

So this isn't a picture so much of Rangers in Snow as it is a Ranger frozen to the ice! =D

We got about 5"-6" of snow yesterday but I'm not taking my Ranger out in it. Not because of the snow (I lived in Ma and have driven through many N'Easters) but because it's freezing outside! ? My Ranger has been in the garage hooked up to the maintainer since Monday nice and dry.

5”-6”?
CALL IN THE ARMY!!!

I tease because back in 1999, the Mayor of Toronto asked the Canadian Forces to help the city dig out of a major snow storm. They showed up with 400+ troops, more than 100 military vehicles (including snowmobiles), and 100 reservists on standby.

The Mayor and anyone who lived in Toronto were mocked nationwide and anytime Torontonians mention how much it has snowed, the razzing starts immediately

CALL IN THE ARMY!!!

It's funny because this little amount shut the whole area down for 3 days so far. They're just now plowing our street and all the city offices, restaurants and Recreation centers (they're all run by the POA) are still closed. lol Sunday will be be 55 and Tuesday back up to 66 so I'll sit back and watch it melt. ??
