yup just happened. the only other problem i have had with the truck was for about 20k miles (60-80k) had a hesitation and weird shifting, finally at about 80k it popped an egr differential pressure code, replaced the differential pressure sensor and was fine after that.ooof this just happened to you?? Dang. This seems fairly rare for the 2.3L in the Ranger.
as for the head gasket, the block has an imperfection on the deck surface that the head gasket appeared to finally lost a seal against. thankfully its a company truck so my company is going rounds with ford about it, the local dealer doesnt want to deck the block, they want to replace the long block. a testament to regular synthetic oil changes, crosshatch was visible in all cylinders and even cylinder 1 with the hg leak was within 2% on a compression test cold.
