In my opinion, stay away from a 2019, the first year, my 2020 with 44k has never been into Ford with any service issues.
So wasn't the new Ranger introduced in other parts of the world way before 2019 ?
2019 is hardly the first year, just the first year that us Americans got them.

Buy a '22 or '23 - that way you'll have more fun ordering all of the deleted content! =p
If you get a 22 or 23 it will of course, be missing all the deleted items that came with the earlier years.
BUT, that will make it lighter, faster, more nimble, and get better mpg due to the weight savings from those heavy deleted items !!!

I have no issues with my 2019 except the air thing which is common to about 50+ models of vehicles from various manufactures.

I am looking at buying a 5g ranger, are there any years I should stay away from?
I have a 2019 with 139,401 XLT never had a transmission or engine malfunction. You’re going to get your foul ups with any year from 5g trucks. I tuned my truck at 127k miles. You’re going to have to pull the trigger on something, you’re not going to be able to base a truck’s reliability solely off its production year.

I have a 2023 Lariat. Great truck but had a drivetrain noise from the rear at 12,000 kms.
Dealer had trouble locating it but followed a TSB relating to vibration. After driveshaft replacement, still present. Currently in the shop for rear differential. Other than that, great truck!

how long have you had those beefy tires on your truck? i always see concern about heavier tires wearing down your truck components as they have to spin the tires with that added weight.

I installed 33” tires at 8k miles and 35” tires at 102k miles. This is a super light truck and can handle the extra weight of the tires. Don’t let some people on here scare you out of enjoying your truck the way YOU want to enjoy the truck you bought and paid for. No I didn’t regear for the heavier tires. I just tuned it for more fun.

Received my 2019 in May of that year. Nothing major at this time. Did change the battery, however. I relate that to keeping my phone charger plugged in 24/7. No issues since.
