hey jason, so the new tires are 285 70 17 which many members have fit with little to no issue after crash bars. Apparently cooper tires are made on the large end of the measurements. most 285 70 17 are 32.4 -7. the cooper mt are 32.97 tall. so just enough to be a pain in my ass. the new wheels are at the recommendation of discount tire. its a + 18 which will put the rim about 31 mm further away from the suspension. Hopefully that will do the trick. if it does not im sure discount will let me try another set with different offset.
What wheels did you go with?

i am getting the vision turbine or something like that. im not in love with them yet. but its hard to find rims that are not black or dont have the silly fake bead locks. they were also on sale lol. i looked at a couple method wheels and 15 52 wheels. the vision was the right specs for the money. hopefully the price is a reflection of overstock and not quality lol.

What did I do today? Looked at Soupie with a stupid face because of a weird issue and curious if anyone else has experienced this.

I went to the post office, turned it off and came back out and thought using the key to unlock the door might be good, since I rarely do. Well, my sausage fingers triggered the panic alarm. My subsequent spazzing out hit all the fob buttons turning it off but then turning it on again. Finally got it stopped, started the truck and went to get gas on the way to work. Turned off and filled up.

Then started and drove to work (about a mile). When I aced mybacked-in parking job so that I would be kissing the curb on the end to maximize the chances of a door ding on the other side, I opened the door while the truck was running and hit the lock button. The lock button light came on but went off right away, I suppose because the truck was running. So I turned off the truck, removed the key, then locked the door with the door button. I started to step out, but with a cheek still in the seat and the truck turned on with the engine running! Dash said stick in the key to drive ...

Stuck the key in, turned to on position then turned off. Engine went off as expected.

Closed the door and a second later, it started up again!

So I opened the FordPass app and it recognized that the truck was running, so I could "slide to turn off". And that stopped it

I don't have ASS (got the woohoo $50 for that deletion during the chip shortage).

It was on the CTEK last night and did it's full thing. And has been on the tender a few times a week for the past winter.

From my perspective, the truck turned itself on twice without my input.

I know Soupie's awesome, but I don't want autonomous dump runs, I gotta have a reason to live! =D

Any thoughts, like the battery is going or mice are hot wiring it, are great to hear.

Thanks! =)

i think your wheels are great i just wouldnt want them on a black 5g range.... uh.. oh. i mean i wouldnt want to copy your style. :)
i dont mind black wheels but in my area it seems like every other truck that goes by has black wheels or the giant bling bro wheels. I wanted to have something different.

Geez David, with all that activity, I’ll bet you reprogrammed all four TPMS sensors at the same time and changed the truck in and out of factory mode a couple of times. ;)

The mice who live in you engine compartment were having a meal ? and didn't want to be disturbed  so they short-circuited your truck so they could finish eating... :bandit:

Added ARB side steps / rock rails and Bushwacker trail armor. I know the ARB site says that the rails "...are not considered a true rock slider that might be required for aggressive rock crawling", but they do attach to the frame in 3 places and are definitely stout. So I'll probably be OK on Costco runs.

See, I knew you all loved me! =p

What helpful answers and, all kidding aside, probably the best answers as this is one of those odd behaviours that hopefully never happens again.

Maybe the truck finally felt bad for that one time it didn't start when I first got it (that dreaded "the truck is dead" which has been beat to death in our forum).

I guess starting by itself is much better than not starting at all. Maybe Soupie and I have become mind melded together! Sorry Soupie, but my brain constitute a downgrade to your programming! =D

Looks like Soupie wants to be a 4g to sync with your programming... o_O

They were $1,300 and took 3 months to get here. It's getting harder and harder to find aftermarket stuff for our trucks, unfortunately.
