the jeep will have so many more options for up grades and after market equipment. the rangers are capable off road but when it comes to upgrades for wheeling jeeps win hands down. I think you will enjoy the jeep! so.... how much for the sliders, snorkel and skid plates lol.
Thanks! No snorkel available, but sliders for 500 and skids for 550. They are both shrockworks, skids have brand new SS hardware too. 50% off a new set lol. I've got a few asking about the sliders, may be gone soon

You're not a traitor at all. It's a lesson learned. Our hearts want one vehicle but our brains soon realize it can't do what it need it to, even though we added parts.
I learned that lesson years ago when my brother bought a used Unimog for $8k....and he totally embarrassed every member of the local Jeep club and Hummer club whos added on parts alone likely cost more than my brother paid for the Unimog.
Yeah, lessons were leaned for sure. I put way too much money into the ranger, but hey, it served me well. Also a unimog would be incredible as a dedicated crawler... maybe one day I'll end up on that route too lol.

I love jeeps and thought of moving back over but I am having too much fun building custom stuff for my Ranger right now. I definitely had to set a limit to what trails I want to tackle with it though, which hurts a little lol.

for fun, my Jeep history:

No shame in switching up at all. I too have looked over the fence at the Jeep camp. Almost went down that path looking at a manual Rubicon or Mojave. The capabilities of the Jeeps are almost legendary and their aftermarket is amazing. Only the Toyotas come close when it comes to aftermarket support. Eventually I got off the fence seeing how much said trucks were going for in South Florida and interest rates that were slowly on the climb.

What’s the first mod? ? for the dash?

That's cool man, you can't beat a Jeep when it comes to off roading, that's for sure.
Good luck and HAVE FUN

Sadly, I say goodbye to my beautiful Ranger. Although a great truck, I tired to make it what it wasn't, as I increased the difficulty of the trails I wheeled. I could not pass up the last Diesel Gladiator I could find. Blasphemy? Yes. Bad choice? Probably, but it'll rock crawl better and the 15% off was like dangling a carrot in front of a starved rabbit. So to that, keep an eye out for my part out! I'll be selling my suspension, skid plates, rock sliders, bed rack, downpipe. ✌

Unimogs are cool, the Australian Army turned over all of theirs a couple of years ago and they were immediately snapped up by 4x4 tour companies and a few lucky private buyers.

Boy, I bet getting used to the Ranger after that history was rough haha. Trail limits are the worst! I already love the Jeep.

No shame in switching up at all. I too have looked over the fence at the Jeep camp. Almost went down that path looking at a manual Rubicon or Mojave. I almost went for a Mojave but really wanted the diesel. But hey front locking diff and electric swaybar disconnect vs factory Fox and a "jump-able" frame are tough calls. Aftermarket for days, poor Ranger has enough parts to count on one hand ?

Lol, I dont think the ducks are for me skid plates and sliders are a higher priority.

Thanks! Already broke it in this past weekend, it very fun.

Lol, I'll post pics of the easy re-gear, the no cutting required addition of 35s and a decent lift without 90degree CVs ?

The Unimog with it’s older fuel injection technology will be way more reliable than the 3.0L common rail fuel system in the Gladiator. Any more of these left at $8500 ? Asking for a friend.
As soon as I saw that post I looked on craigslist but there is only one within 800 miles and it's $36k......
