The problem with USPS is the tracking goes dead sometimes, it shows it stuck somewhere not moving for days, then it gets delivered.

I will say, the packages show up less damaged.
I believe - and maybe I’m wrong - that’s because parts of the country are catching up with their new internal systems. I know our local hub now has the latest technology and can even check via gps where the package is en route locally. Some hubs don’t have the scanning systems in place - so the package seems lost for a bit until they’re scanned at a main hub. Again, this is all speculation from experience and observation.

Hey, quite a few guys have popped up here recently requesting to be put on the list, I got you guys, I am busy at it now, for once, I'm not held up waiting for the parts to build these things.

Actually, I didn't get much done this week, it's been a tough week, I had to put my crippled German Shepherd down, it was sad, but time well spent with her.

Hopefully, (the sound of knocking on wood) from here out, I can just crank them out, build up a pile.

I am trying to get the voting list blended in with the posts here requesting one, if any of you voters have interest, please post up here, I printed out the voter list, I am cross referencing it to the topic list, so far most have been sold to people who voted, I guess I'm going to try and message everyone on the voter list that did not post to the topic, but whew, this is a good problem, but a insanely time consuming task.
Sorry to hear about the dog. I warn you stay away from the where's your dog thread, it's sad after you lose one. I've been so tempted to just put a picture of the ground where he's buried but figured that's not the spirit of that thread. But it a sad thread for me.

Up here if USPS tracking hangs at one location for more then a couple days, you will never get it and must have the shipper file a claim. What we do get is usually in good condition.

I meant to send this earlier but got busy - apologies. Mike, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog - it is never easy to say goodbye to these dear animals we share our lives with - it is the price we pay for allowing them into our lives. Even though it can be incredibly difficult, the joy they bring to life is worth every penny of the pain, IMO.
+1
So spot on.

I know it's a old but true statement, there are two types of people in this world, dog people, and non dog people, some are completely unaffected by the coming and going of a family member (dog), others, it's really like losing a family member.

Thanks to everyone for the kind dog comments, but, it's okay, I'm relieved, for her last 3 days I had the eternal battle going, the wife did not want to let her go, most people keep the dog alive for the humans sake, not what's best for the dog, I had to strike that balance against the wife's wishes, in the end, the wife finally got it and conceded , but it took her seeing that the dead nerves were just starting to affect her breathing.

So, it was a good thing, she had a really happy rescued life, and she was happy to the end!

Besides, I cooked her a steak dinner as a last meal! whoop, I gotta move on, starting to get to me.

Okay... shake it off like a wet dog, on to business.

I got in some quality time in the shop yesterday, got 20 of them formed into shape, if I keep this up I will have apologize to Sid, it's starting to look good, nothing like being able to make real progress for the first time, I am not going to stop until I run out of fittings, that should have been 125, but 2 got scrapped so far, I may even get more fittings before I'm done with the 120 something.

As I have said all along, I want to stockpile them, put up the website and post up a link, working every day towards that goal.

Let me look at my desk tomorrow at work. Think I still have the bag with the part number on it

Pretty sure you’re right on the backwards engineering of the plug. The top wall is pretty thin on factory one so the plastic insert docks. Ether a press fit plug and then drill and tap or make it that way from scratch with rod stock.
Why doesn't Ford, since the elinamated the dam stick at least put in a electronic mesuare, like on my Allison transmission in the motorhome?

Because everyone knows how reliable the 10R80 is...besides, that's MBS' next project...a Bluetooth wireless dongle to replaces the short dipstick which then send out real time temp, has an internal Blackstone fluid condition analyzer and measures exact fluid level then sends the info right to your smartphone...it's so smart, it'll even let you know what gear the tranny's is in instantaneously...?

Not to mention it will send messages to the 10R80 development team, highlighting needed software support for poor shifting characteristics.

Speaking of trucks, I wonder how mine is doing, been at the dealer for 2weeks?‍?
The advisor called Friday “do you have aftermarket kill switch” nope I tell him.
They changed the HCU and it wouldn’t start, apparently Ford now requires the PATS key to be reset when the HCU is changed ?
My brake pedal has always been crappy, the tech told me “normal” I guess he drove it and ordered the HCU, be interesting to see if it fixes it.

Well, as stoked as I was yesterday about forming 20 hoses....

The blower failed this morning, which is not a surprise as it was a swap meet special, so I didn't make a single one of them, so I had to go get a new blower, plus I decided to mount it under the bench and make a duct, instead of in front of the bench like it was before, so in the long run it will work better, and the new fan is really quiet and moves more air.

Thanks, but this has been an area I've had trouble in, first I use compressed air, not practical, compressor cant supply the chiller and the cooling air, (and I have a big compressor) then I switched to "super blower" a swap meet electric leaf blower, it was too much and so screaming loud, so then I smoothed out the incoming air and it was quieter but still overkill, it would blow metal parts and tools right off the bench.
Then I borrowed a industrial equipment blower/vacuum, the type to pull wood shavings from a planer or saw, also overkill.
Then in frustration, I just grabbed a cheap old squirrel cage type blower at the swap meet, quiet, a little low on flow but worked, except with it hanging on the front of the bench it kept getting in the way and sucked in my T shirts, so when it failed, I got a proper Home Depot blower and came up with the under the bench mounting, hopefully, now I got it sorted out.

I worked under the Kaizan philosophy of continuous improvement, Honda was big on that, especially when Chevy, or whoever was kicking our a$$es in Indycar or IMSA, there were some seasons where we only won 3 races, but when that happened, we doubled down improved things and only lost 3 races the next season, 2003/04 was a great example.

But this exercise was just finding something that would work after 4 failures.
