Back in the 70s at the heighth of the oil embargoes there was a tv commercial on (for a short while) that "claimed" that if you strapped there device onto the bottom of your gas pedal , the pre calibrated device (a block of wood cut at a steep angle) would not allow your vehicle to go faster than 55mph...???

I was only in grade school when I saw that ad but I remember thinkin, how's that gonna work, it's a block of wood..

Over on the Tundra forums the alternative that this Banks guy makes is king. The Tundra has a very tame pedal response post 2014 model year. The dreaded "dead pedal" that this Banks guy asserts about competition almost seems like more of a myth. Lots of people using pedal commanders and I've yet to stumble across a post where someone had it happen to them. That being said, the 5V handicap on acclerators is a fact. So it must be possible. Just very uncommon.

I thought you might want to see this as it has some great information. Also I want that button!!

With you calling out the fan boys, Is it just Pedal Commander you dislike? This video is really just Banks advertising his own system as superior. Nothing wrong with that and it’s entirely possible he’s correct and his system is superior.

In general I've never been a fan of any of the pedal interrupters at all. Found it to be very informative and funny at the same time. When you watch a lot of Gale Banks videos you tend to notice he has a lot of good informational stuff when it comes to aftermarket parts on the market.

It's really unnecessary on the ranger. Especially if you have tune and drive in sport mode.

However my old Tacoma could have really used this. The throttle response on those are absolutely horrible. It's like the truck just doesn't want to move and always lets you know it. Man driving that truck was awful. Better to just sell it than try to fix it's problems. Such a lame truck compared to the Ranger.

You got to remember that the Toyota was meant to go very f****** slow and never beat a Ranger lol! If only Toyota Tacoma owners would understand

I plan to get a pedal monster for my ZR2. The e-throttle is very sluggish, same as my Ranger prior to getting a tune. I don't really need a tune on this truck, that and Chevrolet locked down the ECU no flash tunes without mailing them out, but I would very much like a better throttle response.

Purchase is just a QoL thing, not performance minded.

This is great. Makes me want to give it a go on my Silverado 1500.

I've got a set of brand new Eibach front shocks for a Chevy, make you a good deal.

I never had a problem with the throttle pedal on the ranger, even before my Livernois tune. My bronco on the other hand was VERY SLOW to respond. I don't know if a tune would have helped since the only tune is the Ford Performance tune an I'm not interested in it, at least not yet. I picked up a pedal commander used on here an threw it on the bronco an it's night an day better.

Since the powertrain is similar (2.3T 10 speed auto) I figured ford dialed the lag in to help drivers not break traction while off road. The bronco is a much more enjoyable daily driver with the pedal commander.

This makes me think Ford could integrate a throttle controller as easily as they add traction modes. Probably too much liability though.
