Thats nuthin....I walked to school in a snow storm, in the middle of a 95 degree summer, during a hurricane !!! In BARE feet !!!
No hi-lo switch....had to get out and light the second "hi-beam" candle in each of the headlight buckets.....
Snow and ice was so slick when I walked barefooted to school (up hill both ways with a headwind) that I had to wrap barbed wire around my feet for traction.

Made my 7th attempt to remove my oil catch can.

Quickly reminded yet again that I'm 34 years old and i can't bend my body anymore.

also got stuck yet again under the front crossmember and had a mild panic attack trying to worm myself free lmao

So for years and years my Dad told he walked to school uphill both ways, I called BS for 40+ years... It's not possible, right? Just one of those Dad stories I heard 1000 times.

I was visiting with my Uncle and he said "Oh yeah, we went up through the meadow and around up the backside of the mountain to school and on the way home we went down through the creek and up the front side of the mountain. we walked our cousin home, so we took the long way home." I was speechless, but is was WVa in the 30's.

The one thing about older vehicles (even as new as the 90's) is they were built with the intention of them lasting decades and being able to best on them. Now it's like you look at a vehicle wrong and some sensor breaks which triggers limp mode because owners need to be told not to drink battery acid... ?

Even in the sixties people spoke of "planned obsolescence". Don't know where you got that idea.
On average current cars last many more miles than cars of the 50's through the 90's.
But, no, we didn't have warning labels about drinking the fluids under the hood.

Now in the earlier days like the 40's before the materials improved, it was valve jobs by 30k and rebuilds by 75k.

I knew a old rebuilder, he talked of knurling pistons, honing and new rings and turning cranks in the car with all new bearings, I said no wonder they needed a rebuild so often  I said why didn't you pull the engine? he said he could rebuild one in a day in the car and it would take him a day alone to R&R it, I bet he was right.

If you are cutting that much wood that is that large, I'm wondering why you don't use a gas chain saw? I use my Stihl for everything - I can get more gas if needed without waiting for a recharge. I love that saw. I have a 40 year old Stihl that still works perfectly - I just have a hard time getting parts for it, and it is REALLY heavy. I bought a new Stihl 2 years ago and love it.
Yah....Got a Stihl 45 Super ( older than the 56's) that i rebuilt and bored. Runs circles around the the new ones.

i mean, CVT means that the net elevation change is opposite on the way back as on the way in. If there is a hill you go up and down on a route, you aren't going "uphill both ways." One way is equally downhill as the other is uphill (and vice versa).

This was a couple of days ago, but I finally picked up a Scangauge 3. I'm making this post to tell you how great a purchase it was. I love it. I like seeing all the different parameters in real-time, especially the trans temp, boost, intake temp etc. And the capability I thought I would use least, the detailed fuel mileage stats, I use often already. It's just awesome. Scanning for "X-Gauges" is simple and the in-depth information you can display is just amazing. The mount is surprisingly solid while also being magnetic and it doesn't block my view of the road.

There is only 1 problem; now I want another one for my main commuter car. In short, I HIGHLY recommend procuring one at your earliest convenience.

Looks pretty sweet I’ll have to check it out, is it vehicle specific?
