The 2019's have a blend door issue. It warps and gets stuck usually causing a problem on the passenger side.
Wonder if it’s as fast of an unofficial fix like in the 10th green F150s where that too was an issue. Behind the passenger side dash you could cut an access hole to get to the blend door to prevent tearing the dash apart. Dorman even made a special blend door version for this method of repair.

Some on here found temporary fixes. Mine so far has been okay.

I'm 800 k away from Bing out of my 3year/ 60k bummer to bummer warranty and just trying to decide if I purchase a extended warranty or not ... opinions please
Hey Mike and @DukeCanBuildit

I'm at 58,000 km and curious where you are looking and what kind of prices you are getting. I've never bought an extended warranty, but the transmission issue does have e somewhat interested. I think to make it worthwhile it has to be 150,00km full drive train though.

You have to remember you need to be within your 3/36 to buy the Ford ESP warranty. After that you can't purchase one unless it's a 3rd party one and in that case I'd pass and put money aside.

Hey Jay,

I was about 24 hours away from my factory warranty expiring - almost 3 yrs/40,000 kms, so I I went with 6 yrs/80,000 kms through my dealer - basically doubled where I was and it cost $2,000. I didn’t think I would need 100,000 kms coverage as I will likely trade at some point - I like the idea of a PHEV if it ever comes to be.

I didn’t have any time to shop around so I just went with my Ford dealer. It was an easy, over the phone transaction.

My concern was the a/c and turbo - transmission wasn’t even a thought, then Sid’s grenaded after I had bought my warranty.

Thanks. I'm planning on being the only owner of this Ranger. I'd like to see at least 300,000km. Maybe get a warranty to cover the first transmission replacement, and scrap it when the second transmission pops, lol.

Edit: 3 year/40km warranty??? I think mine is 3 year/60km....

It is 3 yr/60k but I was at 3 yrs and 40k at the time, which helped me decide between 80k and 100k coverage.

so i will not try to influence you to buy or not buy one. warranty is only as good as the one behind it.

however - looking back if i knew my 5g was going to have issues i would have bought the warranty if a dealer was near me to service it. for the most part the 5g is a solid truck. but the small number of issues they may have are all pretty expensive. things like the blend door take hours and hours of labor to fix and the labor rate is not cheap. my 4g is amazingly low maintenance. its on its way to 200k miles of mild to heavy use and nothing other than typical wear out items have been replaced. so when i bought the 5g i dismissed the warranty easily thinking the rangers were very trouble free. my 5g has had a few headaches but its still rolling... ok technically its currently in the mechanic shop waiting for parts - but soon to be still rolling lol.

Are the Ranger's HVAC known to have issues? I just picked up my '19 Ranger last week and was underwhelmed at the "Max Ac" setting.
Yes some do others don't, my '19 has the slightest click sound when shutting off the HVAC, but the hot cold blending is working so it's something I'm monitoring.
At this point i only have 17,000 miles so that's not a lot of use for a '19.

Well it’s been very hot here in Houston so I’m still feeling it out before I decide to have it looked at. Currently debating if I’m going to change the spark plugs myself or bite the bullet for the shop I trust to do so as apparently, some folks are reporting issues with removing the old ones.

this is a shot in the dark on the hvac issue some have had but i would wager folks that live in areas where the climate varies more frequently are adjusting the hvac system settings much more often than I am in Texas. It is hot most of the time so my climate control is pretty much always on one setting. only change fan speeds now and then. so being in Houston you may be in a similar situation as I am. My guess is the more adjusting the sooner the issue happens for those that may experience it.

I only need to adjust mine twice a year and mine broke 2.5 years later. There goes that theory. lol ?

Hey. I'm in Canada and for a 5/100km premium care was around 2000$

I'm past the factory warranty period at 44K miles. However, I'm still getting the occasional letter from my dealer saying it's not too late to get the extended warranty. Is it possible to purchase it after the factory warranty has expired?
You have till the bumper to bumper runs out

Unless it's different in Canada it has to be during the 3/36, they give you a small grace period too. I just ran a sample using a 2020 and 45,000 miles and got this message.

Ford vehicles with mileage greater then 41,000 miles are not eligible for a new vehicle warranty. Please check with your local dealer for used vehicle pricing, as we do not offer these plans.
