Anyone in Florida go with an extended warranty? If so, do you have any input, advice, recommendations, etc.?

Im just about to 36K on a 2020 and looking into extending it out.

Thanks.

I did. I'm just north of you In Boca Raton. I was working at a Ford dealership in the service department when I had a customer with a Ranger lose his HVAC system due to the heater box blend door issue. It was a (roughly) $5000 fix if I remember correctly. The tech got me the quote on the exact last day of my warranty! I marched my ass back to the finance office and bought the Ford extended warranty for roughly $1100 to $1200. If you figure something like the heater box blend door repair or, worse, a transmission, it will be worth it. If you are like me, you know that if you bought it, you won't have to use it. But if you didn't buy it, you will definitely need it. As for extended warranties from other companies - I would be very cautious. They seem to be very artful in denying claims. Oh, your transmission failed? "We only cover transmissions that fail on Thursday, during full moons, during snow events." They are a PITA to deal with and I hated it for customers when they pulled out their paperwork and saw a company that wasn't going to cover a single thing.

I bought it when I purchased my 2019. Usually do on the first edition of a vehicle with no history. In 4+ years all fine, good until 2027. I had a Sport Trac that I bought used from my dealer and it came with the factory extended warranty. It paid off big time.

I was thinking about doing Zeigler.

Just realized I am at 37K not 36K miles. Oooops

Trusted extended warranties that treated our customers well (these are the "green" ones):
Ford ESP
JM&A
US Warranty (Protective)

I've hollered at my former boss to see if Zeigler is still "yellow" or if it's gotten better or worse to deal with.

I really hated it when the warranty companies screwed over the customer. Delivering that news was hard. :( For instance, Car Shield is RED! Don't let them take your money because they will screw you.

https://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/ will sell a Florida plan. If you really want one.

Myself I pass on these...
Much more expensive if you're in FL. I just ran two quick quotes. One for FL and one for IL. I'm just showing the IL quotes, but the FL rates are the ones they show crossed off.
