What's up guys, seems I got a bad motor mount and should have a quote to replace it tomorrow with my local mechanic.

2019 XLT with 58k miles.

When giving her gas, the motor moves a lot.

So I was driving and floored it while going around a car and thought that I had loose steering after whipping it around while flooring it and the truck swayed more than normal. Now that I see that the motor moves, I now know that the weight of the motor gets thrown around so when I whipped the truck around while flooring it, the thrown weight caused the extra sway.

That’s a first!
Probably from all the power from the mods and tune honestly. This thing is so fast it's scary. Lol jk. Looks like the motor mount is around $85 so I'll replace it and if another goes then I can look into polyurethane mounts but I wouldn't think anyone has any.

Seems like a straightforward repair.

Wow.......... I'm wondering if it's a combination of the power modifications and the giant tires you are running? Only a thought but who can say

Actually, I did a few mods at once.

Got my coilovers serviced and also put slightly stiffer coil springs and also put the 35's on. Ran as smooth as I've ever had it for about a week and then all of a sudden it started getting clunky over quick bumps and edges in the road. Figured it was a uniball. Replaced the left upper and the one I took out was still good.

The bad left motor mount seems to be reason of the clunkiness. But what caused it? Idk.

These are about the lightest and most road friendly 35's I could put btw.

Gonna replace my upper control arm bushings tomorrow and figure out this motor mount situation.

Pretty much I drive the truck fast and I don't swerve and weave around pot holes I use my suspension and big tires to soak it up so I'm sure the 4 years of driving to and from the university over every terrain, flying off the highway to avoid accident pile ups, poor city streets in Dallas TX decreased the life of my motor mounts. I floor it every day so I know I'm wearing out the mounts.

Geez I've been building this truck for 3 years and I haven't even started racing it off-road yet. Definitely gonna need solid motor and body mounts when I fully cage it.

Looking at my 2wd it doesn't look like they'll be super hard to replace....hopefully.

Those of us that do heavy towing are probably putting a fair bit more stress on them as well, so I'd suspect we'll see issues from them earlier than most.

Or putting more stress on at least that left one from the engine pulling on it constantly. Probably a lot like my J-Series Honda cars, they always eat up the front and right side one before they'll much through a rear mount.

Crap, another negative post from myself. Anyway, good data, thanks for posting it up. Hopefully aftermarket will provide some good alternative options. I really wish the people with resources would spend their time on R&D for things like this than something easy like expensive intakes or whatever that provide ~10hp. Most of my modifying comes from the 90's Honda community, and if anybody is familiar, they know the struggles of motor mounts (and bushings in general). When I looked at all the bushings and mounts for this vehicle I was not totally impressed at their quality, but still hope they will hold up.

Love your posts....you are a 1%er that has built and drives their truck to it's limits... with that will come failures that no one else will ever see....I was lucky back in the late 70's early '80s to have friends that helped me build my pre-runner , and we helped each other fix our trucks after desert trips....

Thanks whiplash, I definitely need a 3rd vehicle so that I don't have to drive my wife to work and back in the f150 when I'm repairing or doing maintenance on mine. I'll pick up a 2024 expedition once I finish the house drawings and get a new construction loan.

I called the local dealership parts department and they quoted me $140 for the part and 3-5 business days for it to arrive. They gave me this PN KB3g6b032af

Google shows no results for that part.

Google does give me this PN kb3z6038j and it's $75 with $8 shipping.

I just called another parts department and they gave me 6038g. $140 as well.

KB3Z6038G seems to be the repeatable part number and what I need. It supercedes 6038c so what was wrong with that one?

My guess is that I have the C and that engineering revised it and now I would replace it with the G. Sorry, I'm a manufacturing engineer and I always play out these scenarios in my head.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Update: I ordered the mount through my mechanic. 5 business days. $124

Send a PM to Benny at Levittown Ford with your VIN and the video and he will give you the best price and the right part

Also, when you do get it replaced, please post a pic of the motor mount, would like to see the type of failure, if it pulled apart/cracked/stripped/etc.

I called Lakeland parts because they had it for $80 with $15 shipping but they said it would take.7 business days to get to them then another 5 business days to get to me.

Another thing I was thinking about is that I have rough shifting in my tune. So yea.

As far as what type of failure I think pulled apart judging how far the engine moves.
