What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I built some wall cabinets down in the barn wood shop, so used the Ranger bed to haul them up to the garage. Hung 2 of the cabinets, filled them up with auto cleaning stuff and gardening stuff.

I still have to build the remaining cabinet doors and apply finish coats to the face frames and door panels.

Drove to forest and planted those 10 small leaved limes.

Was happily surprised that the ginkgos and chestnuts had new growth. Have to wonder the toughness of nature.

And here's a little reminder what may happen to one tree forests..

Here in the states we lost our Chestnut trees to a blight, we are losing tress in the Smokies and Ash trees to a non native borer. Man can help and man can hurt, glad you are helping. Good luck.

I loaded 4 old patio chairs (that I gave to a friend) into the back & took them to her house. Now after 10 months since I bought the Ranger, it has 148 miles on the odometer.

We have a lot of nasty weather here in the late spring & summer, and then starting in the fall, all the way to April (sometimes May) the city pours trucks loads of salt on the streets, the county uses a salt & small gravel mix, and the state uses salt brine & sand, so my good vehicles rarely leave the garage. My 2000 F250 (29844 miles) hasn't moved for a year now and last year in July I took it out to top off the fuel tank, first time in 5 years. I really should sell it, but I just can't force myself to let it go just yet!

Drove out to the last part of the Washington coast I hadn't been to yet. I'm still getting damn near identical gas mileage as my 19 Ranger.

I wish we had more things like this (a tiered license system) in the US for drivers. Too many drivers are in cars or trucks clearly operating beyond their skill/knowledge.

As I drive about 40 000 kilometers in a year I can say it doesn’t always help. Helps the attitude if you consider every other driver unpredictable and suicidal, drunk or without license.
At the moment I can tow light trailer with max weight 750 kg with my Ranger. Kind of nothing.
After upgrade road train max weight for Ranger is 6 tons (by factory), Ranger counts down 3270 kilograms. Max road train with that license is 7 tons. Max road train length 18,75 meters and trailer may not be higher than 4 meters.

You'd never know I only had an 8,000 square foot yard by all the brush I dump. Before I had Soupie I'd make 2'x4' bundles of branches and trunks and fill lawn bags with smaller chopped up branches that the city would pick up.

We have around fifty 65 year-old English Yews in the back that have never been trimmed. There were loads of dead branches that I cut out (there's a neighbor's fence about 10 feet from them and that area was filled with dead growth). The yews are mostly on their property and I'm now cutting the stuff overhanging our side (the dead brush did come from her side and she was okay with me culling that out for the sake of mosquitoes).

In the winter, the yews bend all the way down to the ground, so there's a whole lot of them to trim! I do it all by hand. I find it faster and easier - it doesn't take many strokes to cut even 6-inch thick trunks. But it is tough on my crappy shoulders ... =(

My latest dump runs have been boring, mostly cardboard boxes and basement crap.

But this is the kind of dump run I like! ​

I can see the work I've done, Cheech likes the added backyard sunlight, the grass is filling in nicely, and I can really fill Soupie's bed! Truckie Stuff! =p

grabbed three 7-foot branches from my neighbor's pile (they're vets and these were too big for them)

pretty secure for the 1.6 mile trip, LOL, one ratchet strap's on the bumper. these are so intertwined it would be hard for them to fall out, especially at the 25 mph speed limit =D

I can't wait till tomorrow, it's like Christmas in July!
