What’s everyone doing with the switch for their ditch lights?

Oooo, that's a good mounting spot for the switch panel. I have the trigger 4 plus sitting in my garage and never spent enough time figuring out a mounting spot in the engine bay for the relay module... before I knew it I'd drilled two holes in lower dash panel. ?‍♂
I used VHB to mount the steel plate and the switch unit is attached to that magnetically so I can take the switch up to my RTT...

Yeah I was looking at the one brand Stedi, but their switches aren’t rated for the same amperage as the DD one. Haven’t dug yet into whether you can add your own switch.
When I converted my 80's hobby car to halogen headlights I got a relay harness that used the existing headlight wiring to run a better wire gauge from the battery/aux fuse block to not melt down the switch or feeble OEM wiring.

I'm sure something similar exists for accessories.

put my light switches here. keeps the lighted panel from shining in my face and i can reach all the buttons without moving positions. barely have to extend my right arm from the arm rest. after a couple days i know by feel which button is which lights. much easier than when i had the switches under the steering wheel. bonus that the wire for the switch panel tucks up under the console nice and neat. quick to flip on and off this way too.

I copied Sid on this...and possibly a few other mods he has done. His build thread was great reading material back when I was waiting for my truck to be delivered. Be warned though you'll be spending some $$$ if you read through it ?

*cough* Tremor *cough*

I’ve seen a few members mount that one in the fuse panel cover finger-pull - to the left of the steering column.

Or add that neat switch plate that goes between the two 12v outlets. That gives some flexibility for future accessories.
Trying to find uses for my upfitters and quick mods....

It won’t be difficult to find any number of options if you browse here often enough. Lights, air compressors, winches, comms, fridges, etc…

I have the Lightforce switch panel and CH4x4 switches. You really should run a relay for the lights and the switch should only engage the relay. I built a whole custom setup around these switches. No switch is rated to handle the lights themselves. At least none that I know of.

I'm happy with this location. Easily reached, but not bumping them 'on' with my knee getting in or out of the truck.

Switch on the right is the same ditch light harness from diode dynamics. The left switch is for their pair of 6in lightbars mounted in the bumper.
I like that simple and easy.
