Bah, that sucks and you know, a wiper shouldn't be able to dent and chip paint, but that's another topic (I have two acorn dents from parking under our oak tree). =(
Eek, when my wife sends me to the store, she warns me to never buy a dented can of Soupie!?

2. After I got my Ranger, I read on here how someone had slammed their door into the gas pump barrier. I thought I was much too careful to ever let that happen. I’m not lying, it wasn’t two days later that I slammed my Ranger door into the gas pump barrier! I was so upset! Thankfully, not one mark.:)
That was me. $175 worth of paintless dent removal fixed that like new, so I don't count that. :)

I got you beat. When I was in high school, I had a little MG roadster. I installed speakers in the doors and needless to say it looked amazing.

The problem was, I couldn’t roll the windows down after I put the speakers in the door… Lol.

When I was looking into the snorkel install, one of the videos I watched said you could use nut&bolts instead of the rivets they provide, so I removed the A pillar trim piece to prep. Of course there is an inner frame on it, and I'd have to do extensive cutting/weakening to install a nut, so I just went with the rivet. I didn't put the trim piece back on right away, and left the 1/4 ratchet with 8mm socket sitting on the dash, then when I moved the truck, it jumped in the hole and fell right to the bottom (sounded like Plinko on The Price is Right). I tried a telescopic magnet, but due to the angle, I can't get anywhere near it. Took the trim off under the glove box on the right side, but again, there is another metal panel separating the cab from where it landed, still couldn't get it.

Now it's my first project for tomorrow, before fender flares or wiring lights up :(

Magnet on the end of a fishing line that is fed through 1" sleeves (pvc may work best) that is small diameter, drop the magnet in, it'll catch on everything metal on it's way down, just feed the sleeves in until you have tension enough to pull the magnet free and push it in the direction you want. Once on the wrench/socket, pull it up. Think of it as a magic wand.

That's a pretty good suggestion. I know I have some appropriate tubing at home, but not sure about magnets. I think everything that would work was in the house which burned. I'm going to try removing the glove box and maybe some other parts today, see if I can get close enough to it to use the magnetic reacher I have on hand. If not, I'll see what I still have in the garage when I get back home, and order some new magnets accordingly.

Thanks.

Yes, the paint on our Rangers is thin, but that just means that it will develop that cool “old truck” patina quicker.

Took the glove box out today, and then took another video from the same spot, but I had my hand poking around underneath at the same time, so I could look back and see if I was anywhere near it. After watching the video I realized the first image made it look much deeper than it actually was, and was just sitting on the side of the glove box frame. Looked back in, and there it was, no more tools needed.

Woot woot!!
