I think only kids of the 80's / 90's will understand. It was called Robotech in the United States. It was the original "space opera" and everything you see in robot transformation media culture all came from this show over the decades. A cartoon where the story continued from episode to episode (instead of single use 30 minute stories) and characters actually died.

I stumbled across this on Google and thought, "Hey my truck is white and my graphics are all matte black already, so..."

All I would really need to do is add the door graphics and UN Spacey logo in a couple of spots. People already said my truck is approaching transformer (which was a direct result rip off) status. I can get my vinyl company I do business with to do a giant Valkyrie graphic for the hood. lol

They even make a macross themed dirt bike helmet I could toss up on the dash to finish the look. Only kids from era would get the reference.

I haven't watch this type of stuff for quite a long time but I do have some very fond memory as a kid watching these cartoons.

Heck yeah man! The big design difference between your example and our trucks is they are all sports coupes with looooong doors that support that graphic really well. I'd suggest you utilize the vent as part of your design and then just put the logo on one of your doors like this (This is the angle you have in your showcase)

Signed, a bored designer about to leave work :p

Cheers - have a good weekend!

I was born in '68, don't recall anything about Macross, but it definitely looks unique.

 How I feel when put it in sport mode with a 93 performance tune trying to pull into morning traffic on my road trying to get out of my neighborhood.

Your truck and your truck payments - you do with it how ever you want and like.

However, I will offer a dissenting opinion. Your truck has very much been a form follows function aesthetic, and one that follows in your passions of public service, security and law enforcement. It has evolved into a de-facto "uniform" of sorts on an almost parallel path to how tactical police vehicles appear. As such it carries a certain Persona of Authority with it. Not an oppressive authority, but a respected authority.

Changing direction and adding 90's cartoon fiction emblems could undermine your vehicle's projected personality as a public safety oriented protector.

Is that bad or good? Depends on what you want.
If you are a sworn LEO it may be bad because it could serve to fictionalize your credibility.
If you are not a sworn LEO it may be good because it diverts attention away from the potential misunderstanding that you are representing yourself as a sworn LEO. Harder to levy charges of "Impersonating an Officer" if the truck takes a fan-fiction direction.

Again, I don't know you through any other avenue than this forum and at best it only gives about a 15% window to who you are. So I'm not judging at all. And I don't care which direction you go with your truck. Again, your truck, your payments, do what you like. But as a casual observer who appreciates what you have done so far, I find the addition of a 90's cartoon graphic a confusing mixed message from what direction I assume you have been taking all this time.

But then again I prefer to keep my rig a little more muted and "quasi-semi-sorta-grey man" and that's totally different from your very stand out and be noticed. So this might be just the thing you need on that truck.

Either way... Love what you have done. Love what you are doing. I'm sure I'll love what comes next.

I'm not sure what you are referring to, there is nothing on my truck that identifies me as law enforcement.

No? My bad. I always thought you were building some sort of tactical security law enforcement truck.
