Better coverage of engine than the now accessory cover from Ford for the Ranger.
Only spent $100 and a little time.
Not for everyone. But I like the look.
I for one think it looks better than the OEM. be sure to post any updates.

Well I installed my new OEM cover today. They are actually well made and it drops in accurately to accommodate all items going under it with no trimming.

No! It didn't come with one. Thankfully! Fact is, using vented side vents helps too, but it is still too hot.

Hmmm.....do you think that Ford Engineers deleted it due to engine overheating? Or do you think the Ford bean counters dropped it to save money? I added it back because I believe the latter.

If you drive your Ranger like most folks, you won't have an issue. However...

If you have a tune and/or tow, you'd best leave it off. This very issue hasn't been brought up here, save for yours truly. However, a few searches on Ford's media site might change your mind.

If I knew an inexpensive way to vent the hood (scoops maybe?) I'd already have one installed!

I tow my boat on occasion in 110 degree Arizona heat out to the lakes. I've been driving Ford trucks for 30 years and never had an overheating issue, although this is my first Ranger. If you can specifically quote a reliable source that says the 5G Ranger regularly overheats while towing less than 7500 lbs. I'd like to read it. Yes, if you "tune" it, (i.e. change the fuel delivery and timing from what Ford Engineers established as standard tuning), and tow over max capacity in 110 degree weather -- any truck would overheat. That's why the "tune" invalidates the warranty. The presence of a small engine cover is surely not going to invalidate the warranty. And under any circumstances involving overheating, it's hard to imagine removing an 18" cover with plenty of breathing room underneath is going to reverse that overheating.

to each their own, for personal choices, or technical ones.
But when I look at the little "skull cap" only covering a small amount of the ugly, it 100% reminds me of this:

The re-purposed Mustang cover has a lot more appeal to me, even though heat retention possibility causes me some concerns over time.

Why doesn’t the Mustang cover remind you of the speedo? That cover is just a bad idea to me. You have to remove it to change the oil and when you do you have to be very careful not to lose those Ace hardware pieces that are not locked in like oem. Then you have to cut a corner off it which looks a little amateur. Then you have extra bolt heads poking up above the cover as well as the recessed factory bolt holes with no bolts. Sorry, just garbage to my eyes….but not to some as you say.

I have a 2023 Tremor and am slowly filling in the pieces that Ford deleted. The engine cover is an interesting item. You will find many Ford parts sites on line that offer it for under $180. On every site I tried, I filled in all my info, selected shipping and then when I clicked it came up as "problem with order." I even tried it with Levittown Ford, a sponsor of this site -- same thing! After making sure I typed all my info correct, I finally called one of the sites. They pulled up the number and said they couldn't sell it for under $300 despite the fact that they advertised it for $174.95. So, off to eBay where I got burned for 239.99 plus tax, making it $260.09. At least shipping was free. Oh well, now I can't wait for it to arrive!

AND WHY DO YOU NEED AN ENGINE COVER??

yeah thats just stupid to get that for a piece of foam and a couple bolts. i think i payed around $75 for mine about 10 months ago.
Yeah, I paid about $80 in 2020 for the cover for my 2019. Got it from a dealer in Ohio, don't remember which one. I remember I had to go to Ace Hardware to get a stud and nut as it arrived with only one and two of each are needed.
