Why doesn’t the Mustang cover remind you of the speedo?

Because I think I covered that in my statement already.
No you didn't. You said the stock engine cover reminded you of a fat man in a speedo, but the Mustang cover does not? You didn't cover it and you didn't answer the question.

I was thinking about getting one until I found out the Engine Cover is responsible for the carbon buildup on the valves , and also causes erratic shifts and early transmission failure, that coupled with it also being responsible for the drive line vibration and the number one suspect in the "fuel in oil "saga made it a "No" for me ...they do look good though...
Why don't you go ahead and order it anyway...and classify it as something you don't need or want...

I was told by my sales rep today that IF you get a miss fire because some water could end up on the top of your engine near the spark, you would get a free engine cover from Ford :lipssealed: I askedhow they go about it and he just said that "if you have water near the spark, it's a safety issue and the solution is an engine cover" so I guess Ill have some water on the engine in the next few weeks after washing the engine bay

To solve this debate we both need to have our brains removed and have our thought process' analyzed to determine the differences in our ability to visualize a picture.
I don't need to explain mine anymore than you need to understand it.
Bottom line - I think the Ford Cover is a waste of time and money installing. There's minimal esthetic, there minimal water protection.

Ah yes indeed, and to resolve this in our own minds we should not reference or compare what we do not like to a fat man in a speedo. That is, unless we compare what we like to the same.

The cover does nothing to stop the water pouring down from your cowl area , just moves it somewhere else to cause problems...

Yeah, but it adds 1,000 horsepower so all those other things don't matter ?

Good to see a bit of humor added to this thread. The engine cover debate is becoming a lot like the tailgate damper debate. Our tribalism is showing.

My tribe: pro-damper, engine cover agnostic.

All of those issues are caused by the engine cover, however if a damper is installed those issues will disappear and my local chevy dealer replaced the trans in my ranger being they are responsible as well as ford.

Looks like crap without a cover on it and this does help with the noise of the motor.

WHY DO YOU NEED AN ENGINE COVER?
Silly question....
Why ??? To cover the engine, of course...
It's called an "Engine Cover" cause it "Covers the Engine" !!!

BUT THEY ALREADY COME WITH AN ENGINE COVER AT LEAST MINE DID
They were discontinued not long after the 2019 MY issue on the Lariat trims. Not all of us have them so we have to buy them as an add on if we want them.
