Some of yinz may be new to Ranger. Truth is, Ford has never supported Ranger in any meaningful way. Over the years, I found one knock off unlicensed wired remote control. Numerous emails to Ford Marketing always got a "no plans" reply. I did get a Tee from my dealer, suprisingly, and I got the diecast for this generation. That's it. Ford just ain't interested as long as we keep buying them. :frown:

Fords intentions for the Ranger originally I think were for fleet trucks. The size of them by chance hit a sweet spot for the consumer. Then Phil put the 4X4 spin to it and a whole new industry popped up even if Ford only want to sell F150’s and downplayed the Ranger. Still holding its own regardless of production weakness

I think they jumped on the 70s-80s Japanese compact truck bandwagon as other automakers did so they could stay competitive in that market. They sold so they kept making them, never meant to be a flagship model.

"Ford F*ckin' Ranger!" ?

We are the red headed stepchild of the blue oval family. Probably why there is no 'official' Ford rep in our forum like in the F150 ones.

Except Phil. We're on our way to 5G cult status. Steel bumpers rule.

Funny you mention that. I saw they make posts on the Bronco Sport and Maverick forums. So I PM’d them saying it would be great if they joking the this forum. I did get a reply that was useless.
