While it doesn't seem to provide a significant performance boost by itself I will say this is a handsome upgrade. (Bumping for thread visibility) - I appreciate the lack of logo in these pics. I think that clutters the look (Mishimoto comes to mind) if it's potentially a couple hundred bucks lower it's a winner!

Peak Boost- Stock I saw 22.4 and with the CVF I saw peak of 21.3. This is actually more than I was expecting. I had anticipated 20.
Is it normal for the peak boost to drop? I would think the opposite.

It may seem that by increasing the capacity/space/volume of the system it might, but if I think of lung volume as opposed to the ability to produce breath pressure I don't know if that's a decrease in performance. Pretty sure the turbo will operate the same unless it itself is altered. I've only upgraded my IC pipes and my sense is that the power capabilities are the same but the power comes on differently. The exception was when I only installed the cold side pipe and torque was super slow to come up. My gas mileage jumped up quite a bit until I put in the hot side pipe. I presume a completely re-engineered turbo system could be designed to either produce more torque, better mileage or horsepower. A combination of all of those things might be difficult.

Normal because there is less pressure needed. For most users this not a needed upgrade. Factory looks to be a decent size. Drag build or if beat on it in high temperatures you will see more consistent performance.

Guess I bought to soon. It was $599 when I purchased mine. Now just make a downpipe for my 22 and give me a discount and I'd be happy..

I suspect it has to do with wastegate control. The turbo is trying to fill an expanded volume and I would think bigger pipes and IC capacity will do that- as well as keep charge Temps closer to ambient.

I seem to recall the system is designed to max out at 20 psi but my recollection when monitoring it through the SCT box I was hitting 22 frequently - that was with bigger pipes and the GFB DV+. I doubt the AfE Magnum or VelossaTech Big Mouth could have done anything dramatic since the airbox to the turbo is/was stock. Unleashed Tuning said they don't fool with altering turbo pressure. I don't know how the peaks looked before the hardware changes. I'm about to add the CVF intercooler to mine and I'll monitor the performance again.

Bump and thanks to @Mrmonk7663 for the write up and pictures
?

Edit to add: CVF included bolts for the middle plastic piece but perhaps they've changed something in their production since I was able to reuse my original ones. I did have to rummage to find a correctly threaded bolt to secure the MAP sensor since the original went into plastic.

Alsome post!
Wish this was up when I did mine! those bottom tabs are a pain in the A##s!
But once you know where and how they work its alot easier to get to.
I went with the Mitsi kit and does feel like a little more punch!
Waiting on my tune now!
