Not yet but will be soon to address the weird harmonic hum at 30-45mph Guessing driveshaft or wheelbearing, alignment/suspension inspection (Something is way off on the steering).
I get this same hum or droning very minor at those speeds but a bit more noticeable at 50-60 mph with a steady throttle input and no acceleration or deceleration. I’m guessing either front axle or driveshaft. Rpms don’t make a difference, only speed.

Same minus the higher speed.
I'm hoping a wheel bearing or driveshaft bearing... God don't let it be my rear diff... Don't wanna be without a ranger for quarter a year waiting for parts like that one guy.

Yeah that would suck. Guess you’d get a rental and in the meantime you’ll have lots of cool stuff to buy for your Ranger. As long as I know it’ll get fixed and I’ll have a vehicle to drive I can play the waiting game. Mine isn’t super loud but definitely noticeable with the radio off. I’d be willing to bet the dealer will say they don’t hear it. We will see. Appointment is early March so I’ll update everyone then. I can honestly live with it but on a new truck it shouldn’t be doing that.

well it'd be at that point I'd looking trading it if I had to wait too long.
And I'm sure the dealer with do the "We don't hear it" game.. Good luck, I'll keep my eyes peeled if I don't get mine in before you.

I think what would be more interesting would be a breakdown of warranty issues based on severity - like:
  • I've had zero warranty issues
  • I've only had to take it in for recalls
  • I've had only one minor warranty issues
  • I've had a few minor warranty issues
  • I've had one or more significant/major warranty issues
Things like a leaking mirror light, a torn weatherstrip, replacing the parking brake boot aren't all that big a deal. If you hve things like driveshaft replacements, or serious mechanical issues, those are the ones you'd want to know about, IMO.

Yes, a lot of these complaints don't deserve mention. I've never taken my truck in for warranty repair (12K miles). My wife's previous Toyota went in for a warranty repair, and her current Lexus could go in for an infotainment issue. Cars have a lot of parts and sometimes they fail.

I had the pleather parking boot replaced under warranty and a year later the replacement is falling apart as well. Otherwise, all has been well. 28K

Very early on the seatbelt broke (wouldn't pull out/stuck retracted).

Parking brake cover.

Wiggly seat problem that Ford has been dicking with across several models for most of the past decade. Fixed per service bulletin with the Ford approved hose clamp. (Wow that's janky.)

There were recalls to inspect taillights and (the other?) seatbelt but no action needed.

There was a service bulletin(s?) for poor cold performance that involved engine or transmission software update, maybe both.

Had the latest transmission TSB applied which involved software update and some transmission valve body procedure.

I think there were a couple of other things I'm forgetting, will edit later if I remember.

Nothing really huge (except maybe the transmission--that would have hurt to pay for) but a good number of little things. How many little things are reasonable for a $40k purchase? I dunno. I do know that I got the truck before COVID, so that excuse don't fly.

I still don't think there's a better option, but I also don't think I've seen that Ford treats quality as the number one priority. But, it's really hard to say with a sample size of one. If most people have fewer issues then Ford is doing pretty well. Was the stuff above because I had a pretty early scab and things got better, or was mine built while they were being careful and things got worse? No idea.

2021 with 38k km. had it in for the parking brake boot and fuel sensor issue replaced.

quick update - looks like I got another tear in the parking brake boot. Guess I am going to get that replaced - again! I know there is a pleather one that others have bought but gonna wait -maybe I will get lucky and get a replacement that doesn’t suck

Just a minor issue at 4k miles. Honestly a supplied item failed. My starter motor shorted to ground.

P.S. I just remembered a warranty issue that happened a little over a year after getting the Ranger. The backup camera has worked perfectly before that with a very clear image both day & night. I was backing out of the garage and a white cloudy spot appeared on the display screen. I did a reset by shutting off the motor, opening the door then locking it and closing it...2 beeps sounded on the horn. This is the procedure Ford recommends when there are SYNC3 issues. Cleaned the display screen and camera lens. Put it in reverse again and the spot had disappeared.

The dealer did a scan under warranty on the Camera component system and did not find any codes or issues relating to the spot that appeared on the screen.

The service dept. said that with the latest wave of electronics they are seeing more frequent glitches like this. They feel that this will probably not occur again, but if so try to get it back to them when the spot is still showing to check it again. To date this has not reoccured again :whew: and the backup camera has worked perfectly since!

Only issue I have is the HVAC box other than that it's been flawless. I just did the DYI fix as I'm not letting them tear my whole dash apart. It's a 10 minute job now twice a year to just manually switch the actuator.
That issue was removed on the MY22 Rangers ????

Just replaced drive shaft center bearing at 36,000 miles. That's it.
