Getting Ready to Get Ugly at Dealership

one of the times ive had the program done - not to fuel the fire but my mechanic and i did mine in his driveway with my laptop and it was done before i opened a second beer... like start to finish 30 mins. them saying it took all afternoon is pure lies- or they have the dumb ass techs. its plug and play touch screen. a ten year old could do it. only reason i went to my mechanic is he is ASE master and ford cert so i didnt void the warranty.

So an update. Went to the dealer Walked up to the register and told the lady I would probably need to speak to the manager and she asked me if I was Clay. Was a little weird. But she followed up by telling me it was already taken care of and they would honor the quote. So I guess I had already made myself clear on the phone.

But on the weirder side the tech reconnected my start stop cable and changed all the settings on my seat. Strange

But WOW, the performance pack is awesome.

Great outcome! I hate having to throw a fit, but it's better than being trampled on.

Are you sure they changed the seat? Maybe the new performance is pulling more Gs!

I'm having it installed on Monday. Is it best for me to make my ford performance account and download the update at home, then bring it in to the dealer for the final install?

Looks like they flipped the script and they were the ones throwing the curveballs. Glad it worked out.

If the start stop cable is the sensor on the negative battery terminal, then they likey ensured there were no stored error codes before starting the programming. That battery sensor triggers system codes, but doesn't necessarily trigger a check engine or charging system light. They would have charged flat rate hourly labor to diagnose that and plug it back in prior to programming vehicle.

I just installed my Unleashed tune today and it was 1/2 hour maybe. Piece of cake. I did it at work too. I can't wait to get off work to see how she flies. $1000 is a lot for a tune however. Unleashed was $600 and I got a performance tune and a tow tune. AWESOME!

Glad they honored their quote.
When I installed my tune on my sport car it took me 1/2 day.
Read instructions 3 times, cuz, that's who I am. Get tools out to
remove/add header, read instructions again, install tune, change header, put tools away. ?

Yes. They can tell you've flashed with any tune.
