So.. it's gonna be more or less as outdated as the taco? ??
Based on sales numbers of the current outdated Taco, they may have a sales/marketing strategy genius on team Taco that team Ford is looking to borrow a strategy from. ?

OK, if I read this right - - - The current Ranger is a 9 year old design from down under and Ford plans on continuing to use the same platform into the next decade. So, no matter which or when you buy, you best be into antiques.
Sounds like a Toyota game plan there ot Nissan. How old was the frontier before it got redesigned?

This frame has a lot going for it. It will take a much larger engine mount and has the room for it. So that becomes a highly optioned platform if need be. Coyote in a Ranger? ? Then comes towing capacity. Even that could be improved if warranted. Still, as is very respectable. So lots of options are still available. I think we can all agree with what we have see to date that the crash protection is exceptional. I have only heard of 2 cases people lost their lives driving one of these. In both cases really didn’t matter what you were in.

Same here. I'd be pretty shocked if I make it that long, especially if they take my stove.

On a less negative note, seeing how long I kept my FJ40, I could be driving Soupie in 2067!

I'll need to install my Wolfhaus bed power, sooner than later, to make sure my cryogenically-frozen body stays fresh in the bed! =D
Ford engineers say they have been able to get a severed head to link up with SYNC 6 beta. Eliminating the need for any interior amenities and reducing costs.

Shoot, that be my easiest upgrade! Where do I sign up?

Hopefully when they update my head, the confirmation file works, or I might end up with a stutter and eye twitch!

Does the 2029 date for a new model refer to PHEV ranger (would that still be G6?), or a full EV ranger (G7)?

The PHEV Ranger should be out sometime in 2025.

Ford Ranger Hybrid Expected To Join Lineup In 2025

As Ford Authority reported back in 2020 and again last year, a plug-in Ford Ranger hybrid model has long been expected to join the mid-size pickup’s lineupat some point in the near future, though a precise timeline has proven elusive. Since then, the all-new, next-generation Ford Ranger has debuted and launched in numerous countries around the world, with many more – including North America in 2023 for the 2024 model year – to come. Now, Automotive News is reporting that this new Ford Ranger hybrid model – likely a plug-in hybrid, to be precise – is expected to join the lineup in 2025.

I've been reading that the next-gen 150 Lightning, Ranger "Lightning", and Bronco "Lightning" are to be on the TE1 platform that is currently under development. Slated to debut in 2025 with the 150. Ranger and Bronco now famously rumored to follow 2029.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
If the 6G is supposed to start in production @ May 1st, surely Ford will announce something soon! I continue to be shocked at how they just leave NA hanging when it comes to the 6G news/updates. Unreal.

I still think their assholes are locked up trying to figure out how to avoid cannibalizing so much as a single F150 sale in this market.

Gonna be interesting.

16 years of junk followed by more junk and preceded by even more junk
I'm a card carrying witness! My checkbook still cringes at the mere mention of "Frontier." To this day when I drive past a Nissan stealership a part of me is so happy to not be turning in to go have yet another conversation with the service manager. Or picking the truck up from yet another visit. ??:frown::mad:

Damn truck should have been put in a museum as an example of how bad a vehicle can be.
