What did you do to your Ranger today?

I attempted to install the new Diode Dynamics hitch receiver light only to find out that our receivers aren't open in the back to route the wiring . Now I have to decide if I really want to drill a hole in it.

I didn't know that.

Had to put a hitch receiver drop on wifey's truck to lower the step for her . Yes she is a little short and we are both in our sixties .
She appreciates the 4" drop !

I made this step out of 2" stainless steel tubing back in the late eighties and it has been used on every truck I have owned since I made it . It's on her truck because my Super Duty has the step built into the tailgate .

Quality craftsmanship will always stand the test of time! ?

many of the spare tires came on the same rim. so you may have two of those and only need 2 more.

You can get a set of steelies from ebay all day long. Prices vary greatly but should be able to get some for like $300 eventually.

Changed the oil. Magnets I put on the splash flap made it go a lot faster. Walmart was out of FL-910S filters so I used an FL-400S for the first time. Same threads but a bit longer, maybe easier to remove next time. Valvoline has a $5 rebate.

Installed the ditch light brackets and lights. That pre-installed switch setup made it a super simple job.

Installed mud flaps. Rokblokz XL. they look nice. A pain to install, but not hard to install.

Not to be that guy... But I wouldn't drill into the hitch if I were planning on towing with it.

I know it is just a hole, but with the exception of one guy on here, I am not sure if anyone is qualified to tell you where and what size....

So many comments to make??. I don't think I would worry too much about drilling a small hole in the receiver.

I changed my oil today too. As soon as it got up to a balmy 42 degrees, I couldn't resist. No filter wrench for me though....I used my bare hand. So far I haven't needed a filter wrench.
