He said he was kinda flabbergasted, not absolutely flabbergasted.
Either way, flabbergasted is a great word that should be used more commonly.
Wow, who knew one word could generate so much discussion? :)

Flabbergasted is an AWESOME word! I agree it should be used more commonly....

I mean, I hope I don’t need to make many more car purchases in my lifetime. I’ve already done the sports car thing (Mustang, 370z, M235), the classic car thing (Corvair), and the motorcycle thing (Honda CBR, Ducati Scrambler) and I’m down-sizing from 4 vehicles to 3 so I’m trying to head in a practical, less consumeristic direction.

Was the last bit a poor experience? Yup. Do I want to publicly bash the dealership over it or suggest that others don’t do business with them? Nope.

In the end they were quick to respond to my requests and get my order in (I’ve heard horror stories from others) and they got me my truck sooner than I expected so the full experience probably exceeded my admittedly low expectations.

Got text and pics on Saturday. ? Truck is in body shop having bumper repainted due to damage during transport. Body shop closed today, but I did get to see and sit in it sans bumper. All paperwork and trade-in finalized today. Working tomorrow. I will pick it up Wednesday, as they scheduled to have spray in bed liner and window tinting done. Hopefully, the body shop completes their part soon enough tomorrow for rest to be on schedule.

Any compensation for the damage/repaired bumper? Or, are they replacing it completely?

I would be shocked if they did - stuff like this happens all the time - you just never know about it. Dealer body shops are always repairing minor damage, either from shipping damage or small bumps and dings on the lot.

The agony that those of you that already have your trucks had to endure... Mine was completed and loaded onto a railcar at the Wayne, MI plant Dec 21st and sat there (while I imagine they loaded other rangers/broncos) for days and days. Here we are a week later and per CSX tracking the train is in Willard Ohio so its made a total of 120 miles since my Ranger was loaded a week ago. Next stop (per CSX tracking) is Chicago on Dec 31st.... According to the Ford email I received Dec 22nd they estimate for delivery to my dealer (in Marysville, WA) between Dec 30th and Jan 5th and we all know there is no way that will happen. Will lucky if it makes it past the Missouri river by Jan 5th at the rate its going.

Mine did the same thing back in 2019. It took almost 21 days to get to me and of that 21 days, it spent about 10 days just sitting going nowhere. Once it gets into the plains it will most likely start making a lot better time. I remember after mine left the Chicago area it started moving a lot faster.

Fair. I’m actually out of town for the week at a beach house so it’s spending the majority of the first week in the driveway.

My XLT FX2 has been "in production" since 2 December... I thought most people's production time was only like a week and a half? Perhaps it's done, just sitting waiting for a chip, or maybe it's in transit and the status just hasn't updated. (Ordered 27 Aug for SA)

Mine was "in production" from Dec 1st till Dec 21st. I got a chip shortage e mail a day or two before it was finished and went to built status.
