I really hate this part - the waiting at the dealership and all of the paperwork. The wife and I were making bets at how long it’ll take. I was the optimistic one. She’s questioning whether I’ll be home in time for dinner.

Wow - when I got mine, I think it took all of 15 minutes to sign all the paperwork - we submitted all the info before we set foot in the dealer so they had pulled whatever it was they needed to pull and had all the paperwork printed and ready (except for the ones where they asked if we wanted things like extended warranty, etc which we declined). It was pretty simple and I was really happy with that.

Even if not, it shouldn't be more than 60-90 mins honestly. It doesn't take that long to run credit, etc. If it takes longer than that I'd question what they are doing.

I think I was in and out in ~45 minutes.

They did everything but sign the papers before I got there... It wasn't as easy as when I bought my foz and I was in and out in under 15 minutes...

I can't wait until I can buy from the manufacturer and pick it up at the plant.

Are they trying to value a trade in? Asking you for more and more forms/applications to fill out? Are you sitting at a desk somewhere just waiting for people to come back to you? Or are you in a finance office?

I'm just kind of flabbergasted......

My dealer took 2 hrs.
They were short staffed. The guy helping me was juggling 3 customers. They said people called out sick.
I'm not surprised.

He said he was kinda flabbergasted, not absolutely flabbergasted.
Either way, flabbergasted is a great word that should be used more commonly.

Wow.... That is not a dealer I'd give my business to again.

How long did it finally end up taking?

I guess at the end of the day the important thing is that you have your Ranger and you are (hopefully) happy with it.
