Yeah, I noticed that. I could go for a couple if you have spares.

Just sold 4, so I have 2 more. Just let me know if you want them.

Let me catch up a bit since my last post, as I’ve been negligent in sharing here and I’ll finish with what I did today. Since my last post I’ve installed the BAK Revolver X4S, Ford branded swing cases on both the driver and passenger sides of the bed; the Westin Truck-Pal tailgate ladder; the engine cover; the BulletPoint phone mount; modded the rear seat; and today the icing on the cake…the tailgate damper. Sorry to be so long winded.

What did you use for the backseat delete? Been thinking of what to do there and what you have there is perfect. Oh and that ladder, now I've got to have that lol

Loaded Soupie up for an awesome morning tomorrow! It'll be hard to sleep tonight! =p

Dump run was a success and only two more dump runs until I get a free sandwich. =D

I'm going to leave the tailgate down to earn more man points in my neighborhood.

One neighbor talked to me about how he needs to get a pickup after I got the Ranger! And somehow, after 16 years, I've become the DIY guy and I think the Ranger amplifies that. I patched and sealcoated our driveway and a few people have told me they were impressed (talk about an easy task, it's just painting with a squeegee, but this is a posh little town, so no one breaks a nail doing anything—but there's hope, another neighbor borrowed my tamper). o_O

I think the Ranger makes it seem like I'm the neighborhood redneck, especially after seeing me bolt on numerous accessories this past summer. A moniker I wear with pride since my dad was a Navy guy, then an oil field mechanic, and then a chief engineer in the merchant marine. He could fix anything in my eyes (I wish I had his Harleys and Indians from the '40s).

AND ... don't let any of the my crony neighbors know that I have a damper ... =p

I'm not sure soupie has the payload to spare for those truck nuts....

Also, my gf has been against a truck for a long time - something to do with I already intimidate her friends in my subaru... Not sure if that says more about me, or her friends though...

LOL

I hear ya Matt! Sure, the wash is quick, but the drying, and detail spray, and touch up wipes, and second touch up wipes are not so quick.

But just look at that beauty in all its Shadow Black SuperCab glory!
Wasn't the 2019 black Rangers called Absolute Black, then it switched to Shadow Black in 2020? Same paint code I believe. ?

I took advantage of an earlier posting from another forum member, who was deleting the seats to facilitate his dog traveling with him.

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/diy-scab-rear-seat-delete-dog-backseat-addition.5880/#:~:text=diy scab rear seat delete/dog backseat addition"DIY Scab Rear Seat Delete/Dog Backseat Addition"

This step caught my eye:

What he did was also post the dimensions for his platform sections in a sketch.
1667337523360.png

The two halves are mirror images, so I made two of them from 3/4” plywood and then trimmed them to more closely follow the contours of the rear seat floor liner that I repurposed from a Tesla Model 3. I then used a router to rollover the edges for esthetics and then coated them with Herculiner spray on truck bed liner.
1667337381378.jpeg

I placed anti slip pads on the bottom of the two sections to protect the interior and which work together with the factory seat belts to hold the sections in place. (I will eventually fabricate hooks to utilize the original seat mounting points to more positively to hold them, though they don’t move now.). The floor liner is secured to the wood sections using 2”x4” pieces of industrial Velcro, as I wanted to make the liner easy to remove and replace with a Du-Ha Tote Box, when I want to transport guns/camera gear. The tote box mounting is the next stage of the process.

I got spoiled with my 2015 F150’s “old man step” as they call it and the Truck-Pal ladder best suits my needs. The only issue that I had was I didn’t like the robustness of the #8 sheet metal screws they supplied to install the ladder, and initially replaced them with #10 screws in stainless steel. I have since installed 1/4” Rivet Nuts to allow the occasional removal of the ladder when transporting something bulky.

I’ve only known to be called Shadow Black but with the changes Ford likes to make, you never know.

I only know it’s Shadow Black because that’s how it was listed on my window sticker.

My window sticker reads Shadow Black as well, never thought to look. :headbang: The dealer looked up my paint code using the vin and he said it was Absolute Black.

@Ranger X3 ,

It’s probably the same paint code as a Mustang, Edge, Explorer, or something else but each model probably just uses a different name. I’m sure I’ve seen posts on here about this regarding Magnetic Grey and Lightning Blue and the corresponding Mustang colours.

While I was working, my awesome dad offered to go for a joy ride to a dealer 45 minutes away to pickup an in stock engine cover and mounting hardware... I was expecting hard plastic and not foam???

My local dealer told me the engine cover was out of stock due to supply chain issues and not because the product was discontinued... not sure how much merit there is behind this.

20221101_172901.webp

Either way, my Lariat now feels complete... minus a few grand more in mods. ?
