Car wash for the lazy owner

I have a cabin on a gravel/ dirt road, so I cant keep my truck clean. I’ve resorted to just trying to keep it “not filthy“. I go to a self wash place and rinse it off once a week and that’s about it. Fortunately, trucks look better with a little dirt on them than cars do.

The past couple years up here in the "pine tree state" have been insane for pine pollen. Good gust of wind comes along and you start feeling like your in some sort of radiation cloud or something lol.

I remember this all to well. Just looking at @Strokerduster picture makes me want to sneeze. lol I'm super allergic to all that pollen
so living out here has helped ten folds. I've only been to Maine in the winter as we use to snowmobile up in the Eagle Lake and Fort Kent area and once in a while down in Millinocket which was real nice too.

Cedar (juniper) is no better.....

Same here. Soon my pool will be yellow-green from pollen. It's already all over my truck. Hmmmm... good reason not to wash my truck for next 2 or 3 months as it will be futile. Doesn't hurt my feelings!

Right! Now I have to take my truck down the street to a crew that operates a hand wash business. It costs more money.

I can't wash my own truck! I'm too much of a perfectionist. I handle those chores on my Mustang, and it takes 12 to 13 hours. Afterwards the car is so clean, TOO CLEAN, that I can't bring myself to get it out of the garage.

Are you talking about a conveyor-type car wash? Leave it in neutral, Turn the ignition off.

Having lived in Florida for the past three years, I'm stunned at the quality and price of car washes down here! The one that I used in the Sarasota area was only $25 per month, unlimited use (once per day, max), free vacuums, free floor mat sweeper machines, towels for drying, etc. The one in Stuart, where I am now, is similar but not quite as nice. It does offer the same unlimited and free vacuums, but it's only $20 per month. I have no idea how they make enough money to stay alive but they sure do.

I pay $30 per month for a similar subscription for my daughter. Frank's Car Wash is a franchise in South Carolina where she lives. If I don't pay for her to keep her Mazda 6 clean, it will look like an EPA HazMat site....

Handwash for me. In Mecklenburg County, NC where I live, it's mostly overpriced mobile businesses who are booked weeks in advance. Next door in Gaston County, NC, several shops who will give you a same day or next day appointment - just phone them ahead of time. Periodic 'pop up' car washes in various parking lots in the area. The Pop Ups are usually the best and quickest. Full service usually starts at $35.

Do you mean driving into a carwash? Just stay in the middle and creep forwards until the sign tell you to stop...then put it into park and enjoy the wash...

No I meant spending lots of time cleaning so don't want to drive. ?? So since the Everest sits out in the rain anyways, after I cleaned up the Ranger I will drive the Everest instead for a bit if the weather is wet.

Hi everyone… I have another MX30 newbie question.
I was a bit worried about putting my car through the car wash in case it's a safety feature to try to do an emergency stop, or something when the rollers approach the car.
I found in the manual the automatic carwash mode sequence of button pushing. I am worried I get the sequence wrong and the brakes come on, and I end up stuck in the middle of the car wash ?.

Put it in NEUTRAL if it is a conveyor car wash, the kind that pulls your vehicle through the stationary wash equipment.

Some of my early memories are of going with my dad to the automatic car wash. Building is still there the last time I checked-it’s been converted to a floral shop/party store.?
