Yep. My question was if the fault codes the machine kicked out was date stamped. If so, it would show that the truck was having issues before I was 200 miles over the warranty. I was in the middle of nowhere over 400 miles away when the issue got much worse. I called as soon as I got home to schedule an appointment. My truck was 200 miles over the warranty.

what was interesting was while at the dealership, they could tell how many miles I drove each day and where I was. When they looked at the date when I called, I had driven over 400 miles as mentioned.

Anyway, was just asking a simple question and looking for advice on how to approach this with Ford. Nothing more.
Yeah I hear ya man. Not trying to be a jerk, and I can see where you're coming from too. I get what you're saying. I'm having similar issues with my truck, I haven't taken it in yet, no time. I am still way under my warranty period though. However, my truck hasn't thrown any codes.

As an fyi, the EGR valve is covered under a different warranty. 2 year or 24,000 miles.

Not sure if you answered this already, but out of curiosity, what codes did the truck throw?

When I was speaking with the service Manager, he pulled up a screen showing a bunch of data he said we’re the fault codes. It was a full page. Before I could get a look, he switched screens. Not saying he did so intentionally. If I go back down there, I will ask to see the diagnostics. If they are hesitant to show me it could be a red flag. I don’t think this will happen. If so, I know the owners son who would help me out.

that shorter warranty gives a clue about the "new" improved egr system , same as the old style egr valve - troublesome. The new egr system adds more complexity, providing more opportunity for failure.

Please don't take my comments as ungrateful. I had thought I had a drivetrain warranty for either 75,000 miles or 100,000 miles. (other vehicles have this, Ford doesn't) The dealer I bought the truck from offers an unlimited drivetrain warranty. /i thought I was covered. Yes, my mistake but if the codes ar time stamped, it would back up my story saying this had started happening shortly before I called it in. The trip I was on I was in places with zero cell coverage and no way to contact anyone.

Mark
You have to read the fine print with those unlimited warranties. Many mean that the time limit for the warranty is unlimited, but it's still bound by the milage limit.
If there is a time stamp on the codes, it would just prove to Ford that you continued to drive the truck even though there was a problem, voiding most warranties.

Ford could save MILLIONS if they simply had one of their guys monitor this forum , more stuff diagnosed and fixed here than there , and the fixes here are much cheaper, how many Rangers have been or are right now sitting at a dealership for non existing Torque converter issues ?
I think you meant 'lose' millions, as they make money on repairs, even if it's a warranty repair. And how many dealers are out there that will milk FMC for reimbursement on repairs, weather the repair is needed or not.

I don’t think I said my truck was fixed. I was sharing a story of one individual whose truck was fixed.
And nope, no undercoating. Do I dare ask what the issue is with undercoating
That was not made clear, we all thought you fixed your truck.

The EGR pressure transducer is located on top of the engine, not underneath. Undercoating has no effect on this part.

In the OP's defense , I have been involved in warranty arbitration from Cadillac , Buick and GMC Light trucks and GMC and Volvo Heavy Trucks , once it gets past the dealer and first company rep , the arbitrator would have a field day if the company took the position it was "out of warranty " only being a couple hundred over , even a couple thousand and much more in some cases with out clear neglect on the part of the owner ... Cadillac was the best , (or worst ) whine enough , they would cover it ...

You said this, without quoting anything. Anybody reading it would think you fixed your truck.

For anyone interested, the link RangerBill provided discusses this issue in great lengths. Here is another person who experienced exactly what my truck is doing. He replaced the EGR valve as most others in this 18 page thread and it fixed this issue.

"Ok, swinging in for another detailed data point. I was experiencing the issues detailed in this thread: low rpm bucking/surging. It was growing worse as I let it linger on and I was beginning to experience it at speeds up to 45mph.

I'd always press the +/- button on the shifter so I could watch what gears the bucking/surging took place. Any gear above 4th could do it, but 7th and 8th gear were the worst offenders. The truck was trying to be in 7th gear at 28mph and the RPMs were at about 1,100. Yuck.

Yesterday, I called around and actually found a Ford dealer about an hour away had the LB5Z-9J433-B Part. I went out and picked it up. On the way home the truck was bucking in my local town's main street like I was on a surging roller coaster. I was praying this part worked. Got home, spent about 30 minutes installing the part. 10 minutes of that was hunting for batteries for my flashlight because it was apparently dead...

Couple install notes: when the old part came off there was a small amount of fluid (water?) in the lines. I vaguely remembered someone suggesting moisture on the sensors is a problem. So I dabbed the connection points with a shop towel. Got the new part on, and huge shout out for those twist off ring clips. Super clever!

I hopped in the truck and set off for the gas station. If this worked I was treating myself to a coca-cola. Sure enough, everything was fixed! I couldn't believe how smooth the truck was behaving. Maybe I am crazy, but the engine just sounded smoother/quieter too. I rode around town just waiting for the surging to start slapping me around in the seats. Nope. Totally and completely fixed. There are some of those harder shifts that the Ranger's 10 speed occasionally has, but never any bucking while in a gear now. Interestingly, the truck was holding into 6th gear at that 28mph I mentioned above. It's as if the sensor is allowing the truck to make better decisions about how to manage the transmission. I'm just guessing about that tho.

Anyway, HUGE THANKS to everyone in this thread. All the people recommending this part, buying advice, and install advice. Massive massive thank you!

Apologies for the longer write up, but I wanted to include detail in case someone else stumbled across this thread and the extra detail might help them feel more confident about trying this solution. Thanks again, everyone!"
If this is an indication of the level of your communication abilities you should cut your losses and take the deal the dealership and Ford offered you. There is no way you'll ever be able to negotiate anything better.

Play with the quote button, if you quote somebody they'll actually know you're talking to them.

It has been known to clog the EGR tube.

Maybe you should read exactly what I wrote. Here it is:

The next paragraph had the exact quote from the person. I even put it in quotes. Here it is:

So explain to me what I did wrong that got you so irritated?

Check out my new percolator complements of the Ford Ranger. Sorta explains why my body is so sore from the longer trips doing +60 mph. This transmission vibration, jerking, phasing is why my beloved Ranger will be finding a new owner soon.

My 2019 2 WD Ranger did that after I had it leveled with the Ford/Fox kit. Never could get it to quit so I traded for a 2021 4WD. New truck does not do that, and I am THANKFUL!
