I chopped the skid plate mount off and bolted it to the factory hitch.

Well, went to pick up my new Ranger today. Only to have to fight with the dealer about price protection on the deal from February, producing the signed DORA to prove it, and producing the $1000 retail rebate offer. Then he told me that if I wasn't going to trade something , he would need to mark it up, $1,500.00. SO I let him look at my trade, and he low-balled it $7500 minimum under Kelly Blue Book. Said he called a few other Jeep dealers to see what they thought about my trade-in, and told me they were slow moving and sitting on the lot still. So I called the Jeep dealers and they said they had none on the lot and that the longest they ever sat on the lot was 2 weeks. I told him that this was not the same truck I ordered (Lariat 501a, and the LED headlights were deleted), so I just wanted a refund of my deposit, to which he said that deposits were non-refundable.

So my 'we will do what we need to do to keep the customer happy and make the deal right' was a wolf in Sheep's clothing.

Need to find the Georgia Law so that I can get my deposit refunded.
Or post the contact information for the dealer and set ranger5g nation loose on them. It worked for Walter. ?

@subquark those clamps will serve you well. Pretty heavy duty although their size makes it a little difficult to get up in there.

Ugh on that rear corner, that's where I have the issues too. At first, the aluminum edge on mine sliced into the plastic tailgate cap (it shaved a good sixteenth of an inch off of it).

Then the other side drops so low that you can't roll the cover down and lock it unless you open the tailgate. Then you have to slam it like crazy to push up that side ... =(

So you and I have the same fun to look forward to. I don't know if it can ever get to a point where it's stable and nicely lined up. Mine has definitely shifted in the last two months, even though I'm close to shearing the nuts off the clamp bolts!

Thanks for the pics and your thoughts on the clamps. If this fails, then maybe spot welding? =D

I did think about that, and depending on how the conversation goes with the GM tomorrow morning, may do just that.

Put the RC shackle brackets on and relocated the stock loops to the rear.
How did the shackle conversion mounting hole line up with your skid plates mounting holes? Mine wasn't even close and I didn't want to modify my skid plate.

They didn't line up that well. I had to bend the bracket with an adjustable wrench to get it to work.

alright this is gonna be a lot since well a lot quoted me haha
This critter has become iconic to Rangers. If we were to adopt the equivalent of Jeep's rubber ducks, it would have to be this!

By the way, what is that exactly, a gopher or what?
ya no kidding need to get little rubber ones made so we can place em haha

and im not sure tbh?
Thanks. The OEM Tremor surround has extra flat tabs for some reason, so I took a dremel and cut slots into the new Ford Performance grille and snapped it together. It’s about 1/8th of an inch thicker than the old one so the snaps dont quite engage but the screws are more than enough to hold it together tightly.
ah i see well i dig it man!
bro that sucks.
ya it does but it was taken care of finally and a new shock will be sent out hopefully today....
installed icon leaf springs in configuration 1 that they ship with. I'm currently running 1 inch lift bds shakles and now the multi rate icon springs. I really really hope it settles a bit lower. I still have 1 inch difference between drivers and passengers. I attached measurements I am going to need longer brake lines and parking brake lines. total install took about 2.5 hours. also installed the new poly bushings, added moly lube to bushings and shakles also soaked the leafs with dry lube graphite to minimize any squeaking that may start.

just wanted to say i liked that decal its cool!
Ford officially says to discard and replace ball joint, tie rod, CV, and anti-sway bar link nuts. I did as suggested. You may not be able to purchase these due to supply chain issues. Your call really. I recall Phil suggesting these are good for five uses but don’t hold me to that. Other folks have done what you’re suggesting.

Hopefully, others reply and give their input.
ah i see well ill go to the dealer tomorrow and see if they or anyone have them in stock if not ill reuse and put a bit of blue Loctite on em and call it good

ah i see do you think they will hold well and actually be useful? or you think it will just be for looks?

also the front ones are they the rough country ones? if so ive heard they are rather thin so be careful about using them as actual recovery points.

Depends on how your using them. Common recoveries only require a small amount of tug so no. If your in deep trouble all goes out the window and you will be thankful for any outcome that gets your vehicle out.

Yeah i get it. Its more of cosmetic, I had them left over so why not. I dont really have any plans to get stuck. I knew i was opening pandoras box posting a pic from underneath . If i was towing someone out I would use the hitch receiver. But good points for others, I had already thought about it.

Gotcha. I wasn't looking to modify anything... and the paint job on mine was not impressive, so I returned them. Red ford performance tow hooks for now ?
