I have actually been thinking about trading my Ranger XLT FX 4 in for a Maverick since the Ranger does sit higher and can be hard to get in and out of at times. My wife and I are both disabled, She has MS an I have arthritis and fibromyalgia.

The only way I would even consider a trade is if I went with the Maverick FX4 with the factory 4,000 lb tow package.

But I have not done it since no dealers within 150 miles of me has any Mavericks on the lots for me to test drive. I definitely want to test drive one first. I have one dealer that keeps hounding me to order a Maverick though them. But my answer is always the same, I want to test drive one first before committing to purchase.

Ok not my idea, ordered a Maverick hybrid lariat loaded, it was supposed to be my wife’s truck. She’s fallen out of love with it since we ordered last September. It’s now built and in shipping.

She asked if I want to trade my 2021 Ranger Lariat FX4, Rapid Red with black appearance package.. My first thought is hell no.

We’re aged people and off-road really hurt’s her back from multiple spinal fusion surgery’s . I know I don’t want to do It but just tossing it out there. I’m just trying wrap my head around the idea… she’s wanting to keep her Hyundai 2017 Santa Fe sport AWD instead… IDK..
If you don't need a truck it sounds like a great idea.

If you're getting a Lariat Hybrid for sticker or less, I'd take it in a heartbeat as that truck still commands a nice ADM from dealers.

You can probably make a profit from it.

As far as taking a Maverick over a Ranger, that's a big It Depends.

Good: Maverick is significantly smaller and much easier ingress/egress as well as maneuverability. Will get fantasmagorical MPG compared to Ranger

Bad: FWD Maverick will have very limited towing or off road capability.

Indifferent: The bed is plenty for the typical Home Depot run but not quite big enough if using it all the time.

Wrap Up: Only you can decide if it's what you want/need.

I thought about trading my Ranger for an AWD 2.0 Maverick at one time, but I decided I liked the Ranger more. YMMV.

If you have a paid-for vehicle you like, why trade it?
I already have a 2022 loaded out Maverick Lariat , and we just love it. It is really my wife's ride, which we sold her 2021 Lexus RX 350 to buy. I also have a 2022 BMW convertible, which I will sell to buy my 2023 Ranger Tremor. I also gonna order on the 15th another loaded out Maverick,, and drive my Ranger until the Maverick arrives,,,, then I will decide which one to keep. decisions,, decisions........

I’m nearing the ninth month of waiting for my maverick. When it finally gets here. I’ll probably trade the bronco sport in for it. That’ll tow much easier behind the motor home. It will look strange with two cyber orange trucks in the driveway!

Same here. When I found out the Maverick could be optioned with a factory moonroof and powered sliding rear window I, too, seriously considered the swap. The COVID nonsense was taking hold and I realized I would be happier with my Lariat in the long run. Moonroof install scheduled for the 20th of September. If I find a powered rear window kit it's going in too.

I haven't checked, is the Maverick flat towable? I know the Sport isn't as I was going to get one for a TOAD.

When I went shopping for a truck, it was the Maverick I wanted. Unfortunately, none were available within a couple of hundred miles around me. That's when I started looking at the Ranger. I can tell you, there's been no looking back! I'm really happy with it and now think the Maverick is just too small. Still a great vehicle though, just not for me.
