Grabbed my Ranger and my landscape trailer and headed out of town to help my neighbor pick up a new to him Yamaha Star Stratoliner. Ranger drove great with the trailer and bike and decided to take a picture of it through the window at our lunch stop at Subway. Sorry for the glare in the picture, however taking a pic through the window showed a glare on my Ranger!

I took the day off work and went hiking. I decided to try and drive a road that had a washout a number of years ago which closed it in the middle (you could drive from each side, but had to turn around at the washout - it was quite significant). Two years ago, when we were having all the forest fires, they ran a dozer up that road and cut a secondary firebreak - in the process, they "fixed" the washout. It wasn't really fixed as it isn't really a road - no gravel, etc - they just ran the big dozer thru it and moved a LOT of dirt.

ANYWAY - I went up there last fall, but I decided not to try it - I was sure I could get thru it, but I wasn't sure I could get back up it without sliding all over the pace - the dirt in that area is red clay which is REALLY slick when it is wet. Today, I went back and drove thru it both ways - it was a LOT steeper than it looked but my Ranger didn't bat an eye - went down it no problem, and coming back, it climbed right up it without even spinning a wheel. This is about the extent of my "4 wheeling" I do with my Ranger, but when I want to be able to get somewhere, I'm happy my Ranger allows me to do it.

This is what it looked like last fall - like I said, it is a LOT steeper than it looks - today it was all dry:

Went to local municipal airport’s 50th anniversary with the Ranger today. There were a few vintage aircraft and a handful of classic cars on display. Nothing really worthy of pics because they were mostly original, unrestored, and a bit rough. There was one cool thing so I took a photo - guess the engine and win a prize……

You’re on the right track as far as origin and vintage. ?

Not Citroen but the correct side of the Atlantic.

Bonus Round: Half points if you can name the type of engine. ?

With those enormous heads, I'm guessing a hemi.
Ding, ding, ding - yes Rob, it’s a hemi, but here’s a clue - it’s a very small hemi.

That’s not cheating - it is a tiny 2.5 litre V8 Hemi - who knew? It looks way better than the one in that link.

Here it is, unmasked…

I'd never heard of it before - but it is awfully cool..... I love seeing stuff like this - it is one of the many reasons I love my Capri - you just don't see many of them anymore. I like stuff that is unique or unusual.
