CARiD is obviously scamming us, collecting our money and earning interest on it. I contacted them three times in the past about it and they kept telling my it’s going to be shipped on the next date. Now it says Manufactured, ships within 7-10 days, well the bull too.

Just called Deezee, they said they don't know when the assist is going to be available and at this time there is NO ETA and its still in development!. They also mentioned they have no idea where CARiD is getting their information from and its all false.

Just cancel. If they don't return the money then open a dispute with the credit card company. This isn't something to get excited about--just move on.

Maybe time for a LAW SUIT agains CARID for their SCAM! How many people have they taken money from KNOWING they weren't going to be shipping anytime soon and LYING to their Customers when they prdicted other dates that have come and gone? They told me it would ship MAy 30the and haven't responded to my most RECENT Inquirey about an update!
I Just called CARiD also, they put me on hold for 5 mins, came back and said there’s no ETA and if I wanted to cancel my order!. They also said they will correct the add asap after i mentioned it. I didn’t cancel because i don't have my truck yet but sure must be nice collecting interest on my money for months on end. If you guys want to cancel, call them because there Is no assist anytime soon.

Hah, I thought he was going to post here, I've been too busy to upload the video. Fitment isn't perfect so still fine tuning it but it does work well

CarID called me today about my order and told me that DeeZee decided NOT to make this product and that they would refund me.

Big bummer, I really wanted this... now I have to find an alternate product :)

CARiD didn’t call me but I canceled my order today. I did call DeeZee though, they said its still being manufactured and it wouldn’t be available until late summer but no date.

LOL!
I'm glad I canceled my order 6+ weeks ago.
I'm over it. No need for this item to me. Tailgate is light.

Don’t know that I need a damper, but I do wish we had a mechanism similar to the new Gladiator that would allow us to hang the tailgate at about a 45 degree open position to help support loads. Seems like a great concept.

Both my 2005 and 2006 Colorados have that too. I’m definitely going to miss it, I use it a lot!

I found this on Facebook this guy used a ram strut from deezee I believe

3C4F059A-DB2E-4979-899A-AB020B115E00.webp
After seeing this detailed install, I went out to look thru my parts bin and found a couple of old struts and mounting brackets from when I put a strut on the trunk lid of my Capri - I had to experiment a bit with that to get the right strut and mounting. Anyway, I thought that my strut was just about perfect, and I had two brackets I could modify that I thought might work. I got close, but the upper bracket is too close to the tailgate cable. I'm going to see if I can find a longer bracket (or make one). I didn't want to drill into my new truck, so what I did thus far fits in the factory holes.

If I get it working I'll post the parts I used. At this point it has cost me nothing since these parts were just laying around. But I think parts wise it could probably be done for $20 or so.

More to come.

I cancelled my carid order today. Got a call saying the new estimated ship date was 1/15/2020. That would be over a year from when I ordered it. That is ridiculous.
