Gorgeous bike, I am a triumph fan. My last triumph was 95 trophy 1200 still miss that bike.
Long time Triumph fan myself. I've owned a 2009 675, and then a 2013 675R, both of which I have raced. I retired from racing in 2017 though. Getting too busted up for an old man, hahah. But I've been on the track for a long time and a Thruxton seems more my cup of tea now. Classy, but still a little oomph there when I want it.

If I didn't own a Harley I'd probably look at a Ducati Monster if I could handle the riding position. The Triumph triple speed would also get a look.

Sigh no more ridding for me… kazuma has had an issue with its timing chain so we found out it was the adjuster was jammed and fixed that so it was running great for awhile and went out and did some single track and had fun but on the way back it started running really bad and started stalling at stop lights… we’ll eventually it stalled at a light and I went to turn it on and it failed and now it won’t start… it just spins so I’m thinking either the timing chain flew off or broke or something in the bottom end was the main problem but my bike is dead for awhile so there goes what I love to do on the weekends for a break.. can 2022 be over? Not much has gone right this year…

I haven't been on a bike since 1983. Used to dirtbike. And when I got stationed in Hawaii I bought this.

Not my picture. I don't have any of it. This was one of the fastest stock bikes back then. Which also got me in a ton of trouble. After my last appearance before the man. He talked to me alone. And gave me a chance I didn't deserve. No time in the stall if I give up the bike. My last ticket was doing 105 in a 30. Right down the main strip in Waikiki. He almost certainly saved my life. Sold the bike. And took up scuba diving.

Dang, really sorry to hear that Jacob. Riding is definitely a form of therapy for me and we all need something given the current state of the world.

So, what’s the plan? Rebuild, find a replacement?

I hope you’re back on two wheels soon. ?

My 2 wheel life started in 1976 on a 73 Kawi triple 350 2 stroke. Progressed through various bikes. Largest was a 05 VTX, now riding a 2021 Honda PCX. Its only a 160 but its still 2 wheels. I just sold my Honda Silverwing Friday. As stated before, riding is great therapy. At 1 job I had , it was 34 miles to work. Many times it grew to 60 miles to get back home.

ya it sucks i use that bike as an escape since very little has gone right this year..

but the plan is to rebuild it i cant afford or really want to afford another drz so ill pull it apart and see whats up..

what i hope is the timing chain guide broke and when it stalled at a light it came off and then would start again... thats all i can hope for tbh and hope its not an arm and a leg to fix

but before the bike died it was running great and we went out and did some trails that were supper muddy and for once i didnt drop the bike! and i was able to even do a small 2nd gear wheelie! so it was a great day! until the motor gave out....

Another Triumph fan here - owned 3 in a row before I stopped riding due to health issues. Abbreviated bike ownership history:

First full size bike was a 1970 Yamaha DS6-B purchased in 1971 during my sophomore year at high school. Correct color and options. Turn Signals were a dealer installed accessory. Stock Image.

Last Motorcycle owned was a 2015 Triumph Trophy SE. Correct color and options. Also stock image. If I ever ride again, it will probably be a Bonneville 1200 or something similar.

Just got my first motorcycle. Managed to snag a '21 KTM Duke 390, 2500 miles for $2,000 at an insurance auction for theft recovery.

It's definitely a bad time of year to try to get into a MSF course. Every class near me is booked for weeks. I managed to find an open spot about 2.5 hours away.

Did the bike suffer any damage from the theft?

so since the bike broke i have taken it apart partially when i have the time...

first thing i found is the timing chain is intact and tight so thats odd right? looked at the cams and they seem to be alright as well.. so i put a 17mm on the crank to spin it by hand (after taking the spark plug out) to see if the piston moves up and down which it does! alright but still issues and still no start then i noticed that when turning the crank by hand all that moves besides two things... the timing chain and the cam shafts do not move with the rest of the motor... so im gonna pull the cover off on the clutch side after draining the coolant to see what all is broken down there...

Ignition and gas cap were trashed. It was missing a couple component covers and bolts. Needed a new battery. The tips of both levers were broken, and 3 out of 4 signals were broken. I'm probably in around $400 for parts, fluid changes and maintenance, but the bike is pretty much back to brand new condition.

Sounds like you made out well - not always the case with theft recoveries. Keep us up to date.
