Installed my Bestop TrekStep.
Decided not to use any spacers. Its about a finger thickness away from the bumper. And I installed the step a bit left of center to give my foot a bit more contact area to deploy it.
A nice piece, but wish it would have taken less than 11 months from order to delivery.

I think if you order it (for anyone else interested) directly from Bestop you might be able to get it sooner.

But, all that aside, I really like it and use it all the time. I did use both spacers because of my incredibly tall stature (I'm 5'6" on a good day, in the morning).

Yours is definitely tucked up tighter than mine (and yours looks better too).

11 months was directly from Bestop!
But I saw a post here recently that someone got one a couple weeks ago, and ordered it about 2 months ago. So maybe it was the aluminum casting, and they got a bunch from the factory, and cleared a huge pile of backorders. Hope their supply chain keeps improving.
The spacers are nice to get a custom fit based on frame tolerances and our needs as the owner.
Yours looks real nice too, and glad it works.
Looking forward to benfiting from mine too.

Oops, that may have been me! And I think you're right, they replenished their stock and were able to make a bunch, I just hit it right with my timing (and my truck's only 6 weeks old but ouch on 11 months for your wait!).

It is a really nice product and the casting is clean and nicely deburred (something that Bak could learn from for their tonneau rails).

But I did find it a little tough getting my hands up in the frame and body to get the bed bolt back in. It wasn't horrible, just frustrating a little. Plus I should have put the spacers on right from the start, that would have saved me 20-30 minutes and wrenching under the truck rather than standing up.

I hope it serves you well and keep us updated with any issues or good ideas. It's a nice utilitarian thing that is higher quality than others I've seen with plastic steps.

Drove up a forest service road for some pigeon training with the puppy. Cleaned up the site a little before we left. People come up here for target practice and leave all kinds of trash.

Thanks for picking up trash. I always do the same. Asshats leave a mess, then the owners or whoever gets tired of dealing with it and says," forget it, no one allowed i am tired of the mess"

Worked on property all week. had high winds and lotsa rain in W NC and lots of branches and few trees down.FX4 came in handy.

also found 3 yellow jackets nest, one of which was in a tree trunk. It turns out the ranger is pretty airtight, cause none of this assholes with wings got in. Not sure that Phil ever tested for that.
