  1. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Well, 37-38 psi was in them (and my door decal is 30 psi). Not sure why a national tire chain doesn't read the decal . . . 30 psi set, and they do drive a lot better now 😀 But overall, they did a great job on the install - about 30 minutes, and I was out the door. Thanks for the advice!
  2. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

New shoes installed today. Firestone Destination LE3, stock size 255/65R17 I asked them to balance the spare (had it laying in the bed), and they did it for free, and even put it back under the truck. Firestone Destination LE3, stock size 255/65R17 White letters do look nice, and after awhile...
  3. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Ha! If black sidewall were a choice, I'd have gotten them. Once I see my truck with the tires that came on it, I tend to like that look. But my previous 2 trucks (F-150 and Dakota) went from black sidewall to white or white outline, so I'm sure I'll like it after the initial "different look"...
  4. Powdercoating Wheels

You'll be amazed how many small shops will do powdercoat. I had a set of Enkei wheels for a Mustang done a few years ago. An Exhaust Pro owner's son did it as a side business, and they turned out awesome. Even had him do the metal valve stem barrels. I chose a gunmetal color he had in stock...
  5. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Thanks again for everyone's help, and @taralon for the Tire Rack info. I decided to do 4 new tires, rather than one used, or 4 slightly used -- but all great info. Firestone Destination LE3, stock size 255/65R17, ordered from Tire Rack - they had the best price and rebate I could find...
  6. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Analysis paralysis has these on the short list. Continental Terrain Contact H/T -- some reviews say they are difficult/impossible to balance. But best Consumer Report rating last winter Firestone Destination LE3 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S - probably more aggressive tire than I need for highway...
  7. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Thanks for all the great advice - didn't want to hear I need to replace the tire, but I also understand its the right answer. A quick view of the local dealer's web site, some online sites, and reading some posts here, these two are on my short list: BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT...
  8. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Memorial Day weekend road trip had me putting the spare on. Picked up a wood screw, entering at a shallow angle into the sidewall -- bad place for a screw. Small town independent repair shop said its not patchable (I knew he'd say that because of the sidewall). I told him I'd plug it so I could...
  9. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

11 months was directly from Bestop! But I saw a post here recently that someone got one a couple weeks ago, and ordered it about 2 months ago. So maybe it was the aluminum casting, and they got a bunch from the factory, and cleared a huge pile of backorders. Hope their supply chain keeps...
  10. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Installed my Bestop TrekStep. Decided not to use any spacers. Its about a finger thickness away from the bumper. And I installed the step a bit left of center to give my foot a bit more contact area to deploy it. A nice piece, but wish it would have taken less than 11 months from order to...
  11. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Finally got my Bestop TrekStep today. I ordered it July '21. Does it really take 11 months to make a step? I know the global supply chain has issues - I worked in manufacturing until a few weeks ago. Some unique metals are a challenge to find, but steel for a bumper step? But I'm glad its...
  12. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Installed my tow clevis and mount. The mount is aluminum, from Royal Hooks. The steel clevis was off of ebay. Of course, not buying a clevis/mount set from one vendor created some issues. The mount will take the Royal Hook brand 7/8" pin. But the inexpensive clevis has a powder coated...
  13. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Getting ready for the Saturday college football game, and since its Hobo Day (homecoming), decided to add some magnet decals to the Ranger. Anybody else a Jackrabbit fan? Or recognize the mascot and school? Ears up! Go Jacks!
  14. Access keypad - I don’t get it!?!

I had mine programmed today during an oil change. $100 which seems a bit steep to program, but nothing's free these days. Told them to just put the keypad in the cab, and I'll decide where to mount it - hopefully inside the fuel door -- thanks to fob63 for the post above about removing the...
  15. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Finished the front end mods. Putco grill for the lower opening Plastidipped lower valance - stock light grey just didn't look right in my opinion Tow hooks painted blue Installed an extension cord for block heater from the passenger side to drivers side of the lower valence opening, and tucked...
  16. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Did some painting and Plastidipping. I have the lower valence off because I'm going to install the Putco lower grill insert. Perfect time to make it black with Plastidip. Removed the tow hooks, scuffed them with course steel wool. Painted with Cobalt Blue Rustoleum spray paint. Hanging...
  17. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Several others already posted their experience, but I'll add mine. All the mats lay real nice. The rear is folded in the box, so i let it set in the garage over the weekend. The fronts are not folded in the box, so no folding issues. They are shaped perfect - lay in snug, but no tendency to...
  18. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Got my Husky X-Act Contour front and rear floor mats, and installed them too. Per the name, yes, they are an exact fit. My truck came with the optional Ford mats, and after seeing posts here, decided the Husky's would be better. I didn't like how the Ford ones stop at the carpet/door trim so...
  19. Painting or Vinyl Wrapping the Front Bumper Valence?

I need to darken my valence too. But first, a few questions -- Are Plasti Dip and dipyourcar.com the same product? How many cans do I need for the recommended 5-6 coats? Add glossifier to make bug removal and waxing easier? What color would be best to match my 2021 Sport Pkg in Carbonized Grey...
  20. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Added "RANGER" letters to the tailgate. I got some of amazon. The BD Trim ones looked nice too (and appear to have real 3M adhesive) but wasn't sure I wanted reflective, so went with amazon. Hope they stay on in car wash!
