Some one evidently decided to cut too close to me when parking. I now have a cracked driver's side tail light. How much is a replacement going to set me back?
TIA

They retail for about $1200.00 and places like Tasca Parts.com are around $700-$800, plus they can't commit to a delivery date. I wound up gating one off eBay for $500.

New BLIS tail light can run over $700.00. Their not rebuildable...sealed unit so your buying the light with the BLIS.
Best bet is salvage if you can locate one.

Didn't realize that...thought it was a sealed system/light housing.
Yes the light housing is sealed. I have led so if it goes the whole assembly gets replaced. The bliss sensor attaches to that assembly as a separate part.

If the tail light of OP was mine I would remove it gets some cyanoacrylate adhesive liquid and weep it into the crack. It should seal it up and last a longtime

Yeah they are expensive. Gotta replace one = your screwed. I can think of many more better things to spend that kind of coin.

and i believe they are serialized, so if you buy a used one, you gotta do something with the BLIS to get it to work happy with your truck
RP is correct. You will need Forscan in order to program a new bliss sensor. Op... Just reuse the sensor you have unless it damaged. Not only that the sensors are programed side specific as I have previously experienced. I have a thread on this from the past. Just search my threads.

Here are a few pics of my sensor drying it out from a cracked lense.

I bought a used tail light assembly and used the BLIS sensor from my cracked tail light housing. There are 4 screws that hold the sensor to the tail light.

I would have done that but the crack was subtle and I didn't see it until I saw condensation in the tail light. I attempted to seal it but didn't use the adhesive liquid you suggested. Anyway, a section of the very bottom tail lamp went out this week, that is why I am inquiring about this....time to get her fixed up. I may just file an insurance claim (need to get my windshield replaced too...). I'm also wondering about those pick-a-part places. We have a BUNCH of 5g Rangers running around up here in the Denver metro, I'm interested in how much a place like that might want for a used assembly if I could find one......

I almost did not buy my 2019 Ranger when I heard about the cost of replacing them. They are big and vulnerable.
