Hi Folks,

Ranger made a trip down Hwy 89 to Buddy's Welding and RV Repair to their parts store. I was on an emergency run to buy a new black holding tank gate valve as the 17 year old one started leaking...YUK! Then on to WalMart off Route 66 for a few Margie necessities and back home...

Tomorrow morning I start the dreaded valve replacement after draining the black tank and flushing the tank with gray water and then fresh water.... Wish me luck! Fastener accessibility is problematic...

Best,
Phil
Good Luck Phil, and wear old clothes under there, and maybe a respirator! ?

Today makes 3 years since I drove the Ranger home for the first time. :champagne: It now has 12,146 miles and I still turn around to see it in the parking lot as I walk away. So to celebrate, I went to Lowe's to pick up some wood for a new project. Yes I did actually look back at it while walking away. :sunglasses:
Happy 3year RANGERVERSARY, Chuck!!! :party::party:

Road trip yesterday. I generally try not to stress too much about fuel mileage. I don't think 26.2 is too bad for a 4x4 truck. And riding in style and comfort. Yes it was almost all interstate, at just a tad bit over the speed limit. ;)

Another reason to love this truck.:like:

How are you getting that mileage in a 4x4 config!! Thats well above EPA

Window sticker shows 24 MPG highway so yes that is better. It was almost all highway and I guess conditions were optimal. :)

Haha, wheelbarrow now an impluse buy...are they on a rack at checkout! :giggle:
LOL, it's this damn forum, every time I log on, there's something else I have to buy. =p

It's bleeding over into every day life - a wheelbarrow?!? Yikes on my lack of self-control, but I'm not taking the blame! It's all this forum's fault (at least no semiconductor chips in a wheelbarrow). =D

Big Blue and I went on a road trip with the neighbor to pick up his new to him hybrid camper. Hour and a half each way. Camper was about 3000 pounds. The Ranger pulled it like a champ. Now he just needs to get a brake controller put in his GMC Acadia so he can pull it. Probably be a weekend project for me helping him.

The Ranger took me to The Home Depot for some home repair supplies and inspiration. Of course I came out to a downpour.

Swear we were going to have a tornado but it let up.
Needed to fab up some block offs for holes in my aircooled tin.

Found inspiration in some roof flashing. A hole saw and tin snips later, we have some patches.

Finished. Not bad for $1.50

I'll get around to painting them later. Have a cruise tomorrow and the Ranger may get some more work in this weekend taking the boat to get wet.

Since the world is what it is and food crisis is on the horizon, I took me Ranger to a farm store and bought some seed potatoes. Being normal and all and all I went with Mulberry Beauty and Violet Queen cultivars (hey, who would eat yellow potatoes now days?).

Now I got around 500 potatoes to sow on the back yard. (my farm land is thick clay, so no potato farming - grows like shit and tastes the same).

On the return trip I stopped at garden yard and bought a cubic meter of soil so that the wife can plant some flowers.

Hi KJ.

Well, Gate valve replaced. A bit more work than anticipated due to the sealing foam enveloping the nuts for the through bolts...Razor knife and small blade saw to cut away this black foam to gain wrench access. One nearly inaccessible through bolt... Now done and water tight...not too messy with my tank purge procedure...Glad that is over. RV manufacturers give zero thought to service access...

Best,
Phil
