Dave, now we know the Ranger will be used on your trip.
It sure will Steve and another reason I'm doing the suspension over. I don't mind the Fx4 as I'm use to it but I've been reading where others say it's such a night and day difference. I figure I might as well try it plus I'm going to be keeping it at least another 2-3 years. It does make more sense taking it as there's way more storage room. This also means she'll be bringing everything she owns.

Now I just hope the check doesn't bounce. ?
I thought the same thing when we sold my wife’s Escape to Carvana last November for her new one. We did so well with her’s I sold Carvana my Taurus in March.

lol

It was a tough decision as I did like the Jeep I just didn't love it if that makes senses. Plus getting everything back and then some was a huge bonus, thats' where the Polish in me took over. ?
I knew you would see the light. :like:

Rick, they really do make it super easy. Carvana was $4,000 lower than Driveway, it makes me wonder how they can make money on it?

The guy shows up and never once did he want to inspect it. We sat down at the kitchen table I read the documents over, signed them and he handed me a nice fat check for the positive equity I had in it. Said the papers will be processed in a day or two and the bank payed off by the end of the week. He went into the garage, started it and drove off without ever looking it over. I think the whole process took 10 minutes! I've had more trouble ordering takeout. ?

I'm glad you didn't betray us all.

I'm with you on the newer Jeeps. They just don't do it for me. Too expensive to take advantage of their offroad capabilities. They drive like shit on the road. SWB plus solid axle, plus steering box.

I'm pissed that I sold my XJ Cherokee for a down payment on my Gladiator. I was about to buy a 2 door JL when I snapped back to reality. I just need to suck it up and buy another XJ.

Good call ! This is no surprise, I recall on one of the prior threads you mentioned you hadn’t driven it much, which spoke volumes, just not feeling it. I too am seeing tons of rad Broncos in Scottsdale, I thought one was a soft top if I wasn’t hallucinating. I am sure you will love your Bronco once you get it.

No not my Ranger my Jeep. o_O While it was fun driving it the past 3 months I just didn't "love it" so I took advantage of this crazy market. I ended up selling it to Driveway and they gave me almost $5K more than I paid for it.? I checked Carvana, KBB, and Vroom and only Carvana gave me an offer which was much lower than Driveway. KBB and Vroom both said the vehicle was to new.

With the way the economy is going I don't think there's going to be to many paying top dollar for used vehicles in another 6 months - year. I could be wrong but why not cash out now and make money which is rare on a used vehicle. Now I'll take all that and sit back and patiently wait for my Bronco which I'm starting to see more and more dealers selling them at msrp. My friend back east knows the owner of a large Ford dealership which his wife has her Bronco order. He's already talked to him about searching for one for me. ?
Welcome back from the Dark Side, Dave!

still have all the things on our that weren't deleted so they're really irreplaceable.
Good gawd , you 19 guys , 50 bucks worth of plastic and you act like your being driven around like Miss Daisey , got any Grey Poupon in your center console tray ? SLOWLEY lower your glove box and check in there , beside the owners manual jacket ... send me the engine cover for a while so I can try it out and puff my chest a little...(damn , I do want all those things !) But 2022 guys can suck on my struts!..... feels good ?

I wouldn't own a new Jeep, I assume it was a Wrangler? We had the last year TJ, a 2006 Rubicon, that was mostly stock, when we traded my practically new 2013 Silverado Z71, for it, in late 2014.

Within a year, I had sank about $15k into it, (did all the work myself, in our tiny garage, in our tiny subdivision we lived in back then), making it a beast when we went offroading twice a month! But, the 40 mile round trip to work each was taking a toll on it and we got rid of it early 2016.

While it was super fun, I just got tired of having to rebuild the front end numerous times... One afternoon, on the way home from work, we got major death wobble and I knew it was time to let it go...

We've looked at buying some other ones over the last 5 years, but the off-roading scene isn't really for us..., even though I led 21 Jeeps into the woods on Halloween 2015!

Here was my "great" decision on what we got, when we got rid of the Jeep....
13076981_10206763469908750_2749647343945777065_n.jpg

And not even 6 months later, I got rid of the Slingshot, LOL!

And most of us returned, LOL!

But, back to what I was going to say. I really liked the new 2 door Bronco, when I heard of its' release. Actually, I liked the concept one from the movie, Rampage! But, after seeing all the 4 doors in person, hearing about all the issues they're having and the wait time if we ordered one, we just decided not to with buying one... That's when we changed our mind and decided to buy a Ranger instead.

I've only seen a couple of 2 door Bronco's locally and while they look cool, I don't care to own one anymore... I just cannot justify spending that much on a new Bronco and putting $15k+ into it to go offroading with it, cause that would be what I'd do, if I owned one, LOL!

Anyway, those are our opinions! I think I'm going to buy my wife a new or newer Explorer in a couple of years and since our house is paid off and the Ranger will be paid off in 3ish years, I'm going to buy a 1957 Porsche 356 Coupe.

Sorry to rant and good luck to your future decision, Dave!

I knew (at least I hoped lol) when I bought it if I didn't like it I could sell it for at least what I paid for it with these crazy times we're in now. Like you I've had my share of toys over the years and besides my Vette I've never made money on them. Figured the time was right to cash out now and explore other options.

I still have my original order for my Bronco which is invoice with an additional $2,000 off of that. So my Badlands (non SAS) comes out to $46K which isn't bad as it's still price protected. If I get one through my friends dealer I'll be paying msrp and todays pricing. I'm in no rush so I'll see what happens over the next few months and the '23 order banks open 4th qtr. Word is that Ford want to clear all original orders next year LOL ( ) but even if true I'm not sure how it'll work with their allocation system? Ford really did take the fun out of this purchase for me and many others but I'm not changing my 2dr order. So now the wait goes on. lol

I can see it now. Someday in the not to distant future we’ll see Dave on the side of the road pointing and saying “Look there goes my old Jeep!” After a brief pause you’ll then hear “sucker”
