You need to lube your tailgate hinge. Dirt/dust gets in there and makes it sound like creaky old knees. lol

I have those, creaky knees not the tailgate. The first two items I bought for a truck I don’t have is the tailgate damper and the factory mudflaps. After rotator cuff surgery now I don’t have to catch a falling tailgate.
