At first, I wasn't interested as the tailgate is light. I didn't see the need for one but at the fairly low cost and easy install, I said to myself, what the hell and bought and installed one.
Glad I did, I like it.

I like to flip my latch, moon walk back one step, spin around on the left heel and do the Elvis TCB Lightning Bolt pose while the gate slooowly creeps down! But then again, I understand that everyone isn't like me!

I'm glad at this point most of you get that we are just here for a good laugh. C'mon people, lighten up and keep the jokes flowing. I mean we're on page 11 now. I'm honestly looking forward to 50 pages of damper jokes. We ran out of things to talk about after page 2 and I made a fresh batch of popcorn!

For those old enough and into hi-fi, do you remember from the 70's and 80's when you bought a cheap cassette deck and you pressed eject, the door would pop open with a twang? But if you had a quality Nakamichi, Teac or Denon and you pressed eject, it would open smooth and slow. There's some mental imagery there that sticks with people and makes people think damped anything = quality.

So you just brought home your $40K truck, and you see that tailgate, and suddenly it's 1983 again and you feel like you just bought that $89 Sanyo cassette deck because you couldn't afford the $600 Nakamichi you wanted! Am I right? :D

All you could afford was a Ranger when you wanted a GMC Sierra Denali with MultiPro Tailgate!

Eh, I might be to old for you guys, I bet most of you never even owned a cassette deck.

Great analogy Zaph! One step further: That high dollar turntable where you could drop the tonearm and go take a piss before it landed on the record! (if they don't know about cassettes then they SAH won't know what a 'turntable' is!
