22 Ranger Hood Strut Cost

Ordered 2020 hood struts for my 22 XLT. My cost with discount, $57. Used my Ford pass points to get them. I tried to order through NAPA, but no listing as yet. You could match them up but no knowledge of pound rating, easier just to order from dealer.
Yes it sucks they were standard before, but I moved on, I want them. Done!

Does your 2022 have the mounting points for the struts? Only very early 2022’s had them

My 22 did not, so I went with the Redlines, work great and no issues opening and closing even with temps in the teen's, unlike the tailgate thingy that hates cold weather

I'll bet if your thingy was out in teen temps all day and nite, it would have problems too....

Thats why you need to spoon for warmth. Its a survival thing.

Yes mine does. It's plug and play. The Bastards! On later 22's they changed the hood hinge? Damn that would mean installing the ball studs or changing hinges.

If your 22 and later doesn’t have the mounts then do the Redline kit.

Really doesn't need a tailgate damper. That tailgate can be lowered with one finger. I was blown away at how easy it is compared to the 2004 F-250 tailgate I dealt with for 11 years, that sucker was HEAVY!

Has anyone tried the TuffSupport hood lift supports for their 2022? I have an early 2022 with the ball mounts but no struts. I checked RockAuto.com and found TuffSupport (part #611592) hood struts for about $12 each. They charge shipping, but with tax and all, two of them cost me $36 delivered. I just ordered today. I thought that was great bang for buck compared to the Redline or OEM.
