I would second the idea that they are nice to have, but they do not work 100% of the time. I had a 19' XLT Ranger that I traded for my current 21' Lariat and I actually preferred the wipers on the old truck better. Seemed like the settings were closer to what was needed. If I set the newer truck that has auto-sense to a normal setting, they seem a second too slow, or like someone else above said, like they are trying to fly of the front of the vehicle.

Nice technology to have, but not at all one of the option I would have missed not getting.

So I just took a drive and it started to rain. Twice I hit the wipers for a single pass. I went in to settings to ensure I had turned them to auto, and they were, but didn't activate. Ima leave them for now, and give them another test. I have rain in the forecast 9 of the next 14 days. Free car washes!!!

Are you sure you had them turned on at the lever? I beleive you have to be one notch up to be in the auto position. I don't have them on my XLT as I don't have the tech package. Had then on our Saturn and have them on the wifes Mazda, and love them. Only real thing I miss. AAC is kind of meh.

Where is the auto setting?

My XLT has the Tech package and I don't think it has auto sensing wipers.

I can't find an image of a Lariat wiper stalk to see if it's different than mine.

Edit: It's only in the 501A package in the Lariat.

I don't like them in my Ranger or in my wife's 21 Jeep. They are either wiping to often or not often enough. When you can reach the switch without removing you hands from the steering wheel I will adjust them myself. I find the auto high beams equally annoying so both are turned off.

You guys do know that they're still adjustable in auto mode, right?

Yes the arm is very easy to use IF my right hand was ever on the steering wheel, not resting near the shifter ;)

I completely agree on the auto high beams, and fully expect the auto wipers won't perform as I want them too, but had to try it before condemning it.

I do know that they are adjustable but fiddling with them to get the right sweep rate is frustrating compared to just having the sensing option off and selecting one of the intermittent settings and forgetting about it.
