In California for MSRP? Pffft. They add a $40k doc fee I bet.
The State of California has a maximum of $80 doc fee by law.

That's pretty cheap Kent I was expecting it to be a lot more. I guess they get you once you go to fill up at the pump with $5.00+/gal gas. lol

Yeah, the doc fee is one of the VERY few low fees in the State, we are blessed also with the highest gas taxes in the US. $5 per gallon is here in many places.

Then they will charge you $40k for the nitrogen in the tires. No way they are selling the hottest vehicle for MSRP in CA while others have been waiting for two years on their first day reservations.

I haven't been able to put many miles on the Jeep lately so we took a nice long ride the other day for Valentine's Day up to Wickenburg. It's a small western town about 50 miles away and they have a really good family owned Mexican restaurant we like to go to. Got to do a mix of highway and surface street driving and one thing I noticed was how nice the 8spd auto is and doesn't lug like our 10spd does. I love the drivetrain in the Ranger and not that ours is bad but this one is a lot smoother.

Found some time this week and wired up my dual cowl lights. Thanks @Figarou for the help with the parts it made it super easy. I didn't want to spend a ton of money so I went with a spot and a flood from Quadratec which were only $100/pair. They’re 2,700 lumens each with a 3 year warranty and for my intended use these are perfect.

I like my Raptor grille lights so I added these pre runner lights from Oracle Lighting. They were only $40.00 and I ran them into the fuse box and tapped into the heated seats so they’re on during the day. Now that I got this wiring thing down I might be giving Sid @Msfitoy a run for his money. lol

I happy to hear you are enjoing that JL my friend. And you're right, the engine and tranny work great together in the Jeeps.

And if you get a chance could you give me the link to those pre runner lights. Those would look quite spiffy on mine also.

There's many more places to add lights on a Jeep compared to the 2019+ Ranger. You have to make some sacrifices on the Ranger. That or spend more money.

I was a bit creative when I did this.

I couldn't use the SVC light bar since it blocks the license plate. This is my only alternative.

Here ya go Jim. They're right in LA so you should get them pretty quickly. They're super easy to instal and there's a video in the link. I wanted mine on all the time so I used a fuse tap and placed in fuse #58 which control the passengers heated seat. Plus I don't like to tap into the factory wiring if I don't have to.

Since you'll be on the Oracle site check out these new LED flush taillights they just added. I've seen a few guys post pictures on the JL forum with them and they're sweet! Needless to say they're on my short list. :curse:

Finally had time today to go to my local Jeep dealer and test drive a new Jeep. They actually had two Rubicons in stock, one was a 4dr the other a 2dr both had the 3.6L, 8 speed trans. on 33's. I got to take it out on the highway and got it up to 75 mph without the notorious death wobble I've heard about. It did drive very smooth, steering was tight and responsive and comparable to the Bronco I drove. Seat position was very good and comfortable and it had a good view over the hood where you could see the whole front end.

The rear cargo in the 2dr is really small and looks smaller than the Bronco 2dr. It got me thinking it might be better getting the 4dr in the event I one day get rid of my Ranger it would be a nightmare for someone to get in the rear seats of that 2dr and having the extra room for trips would be nice too. The 4dr was obviously a little smoother too with the longer wheel base.

Is anyone familiar with both the engine options which are the 2.0L 4cyl turbo or the 3.6L V6 e Torque? Thoughts? I'm leaning more towards the 3.6L V6 which I though drove good and it's been around a lot longer and in many of their models. Anything else I should be looking at or adding?

All in all I wouldn't be disappointed driving this and it was surprisingly way better than I anticipated. Another plus is that I could get it somewhere around 60-90 days as Jeep PRIORITIZES customer orders BEFORE dealer stock. Hear that Ford! Now I'm just waiting for a couple dealers to get back to me with their below invoice pricing.

Here's the two choices so far in 4dr
Wait for the Bronco. Jeeps are extremly overpriced and not the Jeeps of pre-Fiat era.

I got to drive a Bronco and a Jeep at a local new car show today. Over obsticle course.

That Bronco is an impressive vehicle. Priced one out at 41k with sasquatch package. Not gonna sniff a 4 door jeep at that.

And quit frankly, That Bronco is an impressive vehicle. So much so, i am seriously thinking about canceling the F150 order, and ordering a Bronco.

I did not have that thought after driving the Jeep. The 2.0 Jeep is a turd.
