Pepper and I watched the Daytona 500 today, and saw an awesome finish, with the win by the rookie in the @Discount Tire Mustang Nextgen car! Pepper now thinks she's a Next-gen Ranger:champagne:

I didn't have a reason to get the Ranger out on my weekly day off last Friday, but I did drive it around the neighborhood this afternoon. The wife even came along.

abbs and I went out exploring some small towns and ghost towns. got a little dusty and dirty. ended up going by the old donnell mill. I was wanting to walk around the old town site etc. but it was covered up with no trespassing signs. Main street was interesting, had a sign still and about 30 yards of old pavement then dirt and trees again all with no go signs. least I got to see from the bridge.

Hope everyone had a safe President’s Day weekend. Just got back from spending a couple days out in Ocala National Forest.

Went down a few numbered trails that hadn’t been driven in a while and realized it when it was too late. At that point it was like ripping off a bandaid, I had to just keep going. Truck got quite a few(a lot) of scratches in the process.

Heading home today we stopped at the Daytona Beach Buc-cees to fuel up, grab some breakfast, and watch the SpaceX Falcon 9 launching from the cape. The red arrow in one of the photos is showing the ?.

Also on the drive home I noticed the truck was driving funny. And quick steering or bumps in the road made her roll like a car with horrible body roll. At the first test stop I found the passenger side stabilizer link had disconnected from the sway bar. This was the same link I replaced after damaging the original installing the leveling kit.

I didn't get any pics, but man, what a crazy couple of days!

Monday, Mayflower showed up to the house to start packing up my house. I started loading my Ranger that day. Tuesday, Mayflower returned and loaded everything into the their semi-truck, from about 0800 to 1400. I finsihed loading up the Ranger as well, and got the back seat setup for my best buddy Moe (the dog).

Let me tell you, I had that truck LOADED. The bed was completely packed solid. I also had roughly 20 gallons of beer in bottles (a mix of homebrew beer and store bought) as well as about 5 gallons of liquor (in bottles) crammed into the cab of the truck wherever it would fit. On top of this, the cab had my Dometic fridge as well as a tone of random household items just stuffed into it. As soon as the moving truck pulled out, I hit the road south. What a long day!!!! I didn't get in until around 2300 to the new house.

Funny thing, I could actually feel the weight of the truck on this drive. I was seriously loaded down. The fuel economy sucked! LOL What also sucked was the amount of bugs I splattered my way through while southbound!

But, I did right by my Ranger and yesterday, after starting on my list of chores at the new house, I took the truck out for a hand wash and interior clean. She's looking good! Damn I love my Ranger!

Oh yeah. While I was waiting for my truck to be washed, another customer did a slow walk around it and then came to me asking questions. He loved it!

Went to yearly inspection. Ranger failed.

Seems to have a U0401 code in the computer. 1 month to fix and reinspect. Also need to get a paper saying that the speed limiter works as the inspection firm didn't have tools to do that.

I started out early this morning. Stopped at the gas station, went to the hardware store, went to the Walmart.

I couldn't bring myself to park in the hardware store parking lot even though there were plenty of spaces. A disturbance in the Force®, I guess. So I parked in the Panda Express parking lot next door because it wasn't open. :D I still hug one side of the space, as usual.

As I'm walking out of the Walmart, I come face to face with an older, taller, and dirtier version of my Ranger. It was a 2019 or early/mid 2020 because it had the Ecoboost badge. The owner is all about the "Biggest tires, no lift?" lifestyle.

You can see mine parked way, way, back there.

I park like that all the time when there's a large empty space by the curb. But when I did that I got accused of parking crooked. :facepalm:Just don't let Duke @DukeCanBuildit see this or you'll never live it down! Trust me on this one, he'll save the pictures for life. :sunglasses: ?
