man that stuff could have crashed into the glass and you! whew. close. Good music. I guess that financial responsibility is not really a thing in that area?
It's the wild west. Some companies have great ethics and are equal to American standards... others just do the bare minimum. Others don't even do the bare minimum. It keeps you on your toes.

The police say they are going to get the driver to pay me something. We will see.

Hi Folks,

Today the Ranger saved the day. I embarked on changing the air filter on the Alfa Motorhome with a Cat C7 Turbo diesel....This is a 4 hour job with the tough nut to crack being getting the old air cleaner out of the compartment in which it is located. Inlet and outlet are 6" diameter. Inlet is like a super big dryer duct and the outlet is a rubber elbow. Getting the outlet rubber elbow is always a challenge, especially when it has been 5 years since last change. Inlet proved difficult too as I ended up having to cut the 6" diameter hose clamp off the inlet....So the trusty Ranger took me to the hardware store where I bought a couple smaller "tangential Screw Clamps" to put together to accomplish the task. Nasty, dirty job and hopefully this Wix Fliter which is about 14" in diameter and 2½ ft long will last longer as we will now only be taking short trips up to Flagstaff and back down in the fall... Our days of marthon 3 months cross country trips are over...

best,
Phil

just about bottomed the tremor out on the steps. Wide angle makes it look fairly flat but steep hill with dip on the backside. Time for the steps to go before they remove themselves. ? perhaps a 2 inch level may help slightly as well!

Yeah, stupid side steps hit everything! I just go to the deer lease which is about 20 miles of off road, away from all forms of pavement or concrete, i have a 4x2 so nothing wicked to bury the truck and the side steps hit everything. Especially because in a 4x2 momentum is king. Only have them because the wife says the truck is too tall. Ha!

The end of your post brings to mind the question:
"How are you doing, Phil?"
Hoping you are well...on behalf of the "crew" here at 5G :)

Hi Chris,

Thanks for thinking of me! Doing well...just realizing I am slowing down a bit...some of this is mindset as we have the luxury of taking things more slowly. Margie and I had a goal to visit all 48 lower stated and we accomplished this now. The call of the open road is now diminished to the point that we are going to try and see if staying in Flagstaff in the summer when it is so hot here in Green Valley is to our liking...we did a test stay in Flagstaff and enjoyed it. We will see how that works...besides...we, by AZ law, cannot take Tito over state lines...he has to remain in Arizona.

Best,
Phil

Right there with you Phil. We have hit 45 of the lower 48, and Alaska, and 5 of the Canadian Provinces. But as age catches up, we too have cut down on the 3-4 month trips, now taking many long weekends and longer trips of around 2 weeks or so.
Actually enjoying it a bit more as we're in no rush to get from "here to there". Just waiting for the new travel trailer to come in so we can start the 2022 travels.
Safe travels to you and Margie...

Perfect snowbird locations, Flagstaff for summers and Phoenix for the winters! Trying to talk the warden into it.:LOL:

Sad day. Today I loaded up all of my duty gear from 16 years of being in law enforcement into my Ranger and turned it all in. But at least I have a cool Ranger to drive home in! ?
Did the same not too long ago. With Court case’s it’s still like it never happened. I’m hoping that madness ends soon enough… Enjoy !!

Man, the court stuff has already been a major headache. I let the solicitors office know I was going on a cruise from 1/30 to 2/6. I let them know that the moving company was packing my house on 2/21 and loading my house on 2/22. I also let then know that at 0400 on 2/23, I was south-bound to my new house in FL. They sent me a subpoena for when I was on my cruise. Then they subpoenaed me for the day the moving company was loading my house into their truck and for the day I was driving south. Arghhhhhh!

At least now they've fixed it where all I need to do is be available on the 23rd, and now they're letting me testify via Zoom. So now after the moving company is done with my house on the 22nd, I will hop in the truck and head 8 hours south!

It’s like they did not even look at what you submitted ?. Years ago when I transferred across the province the Crown wanted me to come back to my old region for some trial. Until they found out how much it would cost to fly me back, taxi costs motel stays, meals ect….. needless to say my notes were deemed “good enough “. Here’s hoping once you are settled in at your new digs they leave you alone ?

Well Wednesday, my Ford Performance Power Pack arrived and was installed by the dealer. Friday, I drove it south from NC to GA pulling a borrowed popup camper with my bike on the roof rack and got 21.8 MPG over 300+ miles.

Also, on this drive it was the least stressful drive I've ever had, I set the cruise and let the ACC do its thing and it was great. I was not bothered by people going slower than I wanted to, the truck just adjusted it for me. I just ignored the speed other than adjusting the max speed as the speed limits changed on the non-freeway route (that "avoid freeway" route included I-95 from NC boarder to 20 minutes from my destination for some reason).
