With every hose I own frozen from this cold spell, I was at a loss as to how I could clean my truck after driving in the snow/salt/sand last weekend. I decided to pick up a bottle of Chemical Guys Waterless Car Wash at Walmart for $9.97. Didn’t leave a scratch and Shadow is looking mint! Pretty dang Impressive.

Wouldn't it be safer to wash in your garage with a few gallons of distilled water? I worry about abrading the paint with so little spray solution...?

No can do when all your hoses are outside and full of ice. Key with any dirt removal is lubrication. What’s the difference between what I did vs soap and a wash mitt? Not hardly anything.

Truck looks amazing and Chemical Guys is good stuff. But with the waterless cleaner, how do you flush the gunk away without water?

That almost defies common sense, but I guess the proof is in the pudding. If you can clean black without scratching it, you can clean anything.

Might get this to get rid of water spots, anytime my truck thinks it might have seen water it is an issue. Super annoying right after a carwash.

The joys of black paint.

You should disconnect your hoses from the spigot. It will not only keep your hoses from freezing, but your pipes as well.

And, personally, I'd NEVER wipe a vehicle of mine down like that. Paint damage waiting to happen.

Why not just hit the pay & spray?

They are disconnected. But the connector one runs around the house, then I have a spool mounted to outside garage with 100ft of hose. It won’t even turn, everything is so frozen. Even if I was able to thaw it out, it would freeze on contact with my truck. Garage is insulated, but has windows and it’s sitting at 26 degrees right now. It made me super nervous as well not using water. My truck is ceramic coated so I do have a tiny bit of insurance against scratches. I’m correcting the paint and doing a fresh ceramic coat this spring anyway. I tested a spot on rocker first with my led work lights supervising me. Lol

Plus this truck actually goes down some tight trails at my local ORV park, so it’s not perfect anyway. She will be back to BETTER than new shine in March -ish

I know many people use Waterless Car Wash but I could never bring myself to try them for the reason you listed. When it was freezing back east I would just bring mine to one of those self serve car washes that have the wands. At least I could get the salt and crud off then I'd wait for it to get above freezing and hand wash it using some waterproof diving gloves to keep my hands dry. I'd also had a shorter 25' hose (for winter use) that I'd drain after and put in the basement so it didn't freeze and get ruined

When I moved here I added a spigot inside the garage and have it connected to my water softener because the water is very hard here. While it doesn't get single digit cold here it'll still get in the low 30's some mornings. ?

Yeah, distilled water per gallon is pretty cheap. Or just carry some from the kitchen in a bucket.

I use that waterless wash as well. Works fine. Key is using enough lubrication and using MANY microfibers If you are doing the whole truck. My advise would be to buy by the gallon and use a pump sprayer.
