Finally ordered some middle bed tie-downs and the bolts from Benny @ Levittown. Scuffed them up and sprayed with 5-6 light coats of rattlecan bedliner I have found to be of good quality prior to installing, as my truck has the factory bedliner. I'll also get around to installing the swing case I've had sitting here since last June when these go in since they use the MISSING middle tie-down hardware. I still think this one of the most annoying part deletions Ford has done on these trucks since they came here.

Walked out of the store yesterday and decided that that was the end of the little bit of exposed pinch welds.

Also got the Carhartt Precision Fit seat covers installed. Well worth the wait, and the black goes well with the truck. Now the pup can slobber and jump wherever he darn well pleases.

I have a cold weather jacket that’s the same duck weave material from Carhartt. Very easy to clean and can take a beating. Up north it’s pretty much my wardrobe, Carhartt everything. Sister laughs that I’m a walking billboard for them.

With a 110lbs lab that goes with me everywhere, having good seat protection is a must. He would make short work out of the micro suede in no time.

I want those seat covers! I searched for good seat covers when I first bought my truck, and discovered those. I never pulled the trigger though.

Local Dealer ( different than the one I purchased from) does spray in liners AND accepts Ford points.

$340 out of pocket sounded significantly better than the $550/700 the Local lineX dealer wanted for their basic/UV resistant liner. Same basic warranty. If anything happens to the liner they'll fix it.

One day I am going to install gas shocks instead of damper. That way I have to use a few hundred pounds of force to push my tailgate down and hold it open, but when I am done it will slam shut on its own. I'm thinking a set of 200lb shocks should work.

Then I am going to go to every Ford / Ranger meetup while I just force down my tailgate and let it slam shut over and over for hours on end while staring at the crowd.

Now you need a damper mod. Yes you heard that right there's a mod for a mod.

I used a piece of velcro from a wire tie and wrapped it around the cable and added a piece of electrical tape at the bottom. Now it won't get caught on the side of damper.:whew:

I have an RSI Smartcap, and have been having trouble with car washes and having water get through the sides of the tailgate and a small section on the top. Today I sealed it and am about to go test it to see if it keeps water out of the bed.

The lip of the tailgate on the corner was moving the seal when I closed it so I just cut a small piece and put it back a little further. If anybody is wondering why I didn’t curve it along the top. ?

Wish me luck!

Much better set up than mine!!! I used big weather stripping on the edge of the tailgate. It does not work very well. Your idea seems a much better solution

Well, today, I got an email from 5-Star Tuning and they shipped my tuner last week, without any of the 6 tunes I purchased. It did, however, have the canned version from SCT on it and that's what I'd been running all week, until tonight! I got my 3 daily/tow tunes and my 3 performance tunes uploaded onto my BDX. Maybe it'll be a different animal tomorrow morning, on my whopping 3 mile ride to work, LOL!

I also installed the Lariat Vault Grey Dash pieces, along with my faux CF Overlays.

Extang Maxseal Truck Bed Tailgate Seal | 1140 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CN5QG...abc_F1AKJ3T9HFZQ81QQ3C9W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Here’s the seal I used, somebody here recommended it, I can’t remember his handle but this went on real good.

There was a lot of water today though, so I’m thinking it Is coming up from below. Will be sealing the lower end soon. This spring I will have my wife drive through the car wash and I’ll wash my beard back there so I can make note of everywhere I am getting leaks. I want this thing sealed before summer.

Cheers bro.
Thanks!
You can see in The pic that i put weather stripping on the bottom of the bed where it meets the tailgate. That part seems to work on keeping most dust and keeping water out.

Nothing really ranger related other than the fact I drove it 60 miles each way to pick up some Gen 1 raptor coilovers to swap into my 05 expedition. Ford does a hell of a good job with allowing for multiple vehicles to swap parts with eachother. Like the fact that the new bronco is basically a ranger raptor in sheep's clothing. I've read several articles and cross referenced a ton of things and by all means the 2021 bronco front end suspension parts minus shocks should be bolt on with added width and travel. I'll be canceling my bronco order for this reason and for ford dealer screwing me over too.

Remember he's in Alaska. It's freezing there right now so it'll be slower than ours until it warms up. Even a damper gets shrinkage.:bandit:
