Something to understand as well is the px-series Ranger has a completely different frame. This is something I discovered when I was in the process of test fitting the bigger tank from lra last year

Anyone put a fuel cell in/below the bed?
I got my inspection today and the guy said I can pass inspection with a fuel cell in the bed as long as I don't have a CEL.
I want a 40 or 60 gallon for the rear weight if any of you want to share details you can msg me. Thanks.

I have 2 of these 19 gallon tanks going in my box. I have both tanks and all the plumbing, just need to finish welding the rack they're going on. They won't be connected to my fuel system.

Doing it again, I'd be getting two of the vertical 17 G tanks instead, but they weren't available when I bought mine. Maximizing the volume, with the smallest foot print, and fitting under a tonneau cover is the challenge.

Read the last few days. Is the LRA tank dead in the water? Seems to be a while with no updates
Unfortunately that's where things are. I wish it weren't the case but it is what it is

Total weight on the mount could be an issue.
Perhaps, although I think it would be okay: the spare mount accommodates larger and/or heavier tires (eg 60 lb tire) and the weight of the stock tire (36 lb) + 5 ga (40 lb) tank is ~75 lb.

I'm curious if Ford specifies what the max spare tire weight is...that would tell us with certainty :)

The only complaint I have is they didn't come with the foam as advertised.

I took the sensors out first thing on both and they were spotless inside. All the fittings are perfect, and the welds are as well. I pressure tested with no loss for 30 minutes.

I hadn't read the reviews before buying, but they wouldn't have stopped me anyway. There are so few options that fit under a tonneau in the Ranger, I was ready to roll the dice on almost any metal tank. Worst case I could have sent it back at no cost, or tig weld up the problems my self.

Just buying the materials to weld this up from scratch would have cost me close to the unit cost. Even if I have to make a few small repairs to start out, or down the road, it's still better than no reserve tanks.

Well you obviously sound like you know what you're doing. And it is Amazon you're right you could just send it right back no problem, it's the easiest you just drop it off somewhere and they refund you within a few hours.
I think for those of us that aren't as skilled we would want a for sure thing but that isn't gonna come at this price or anything under $500.
I give you props for your skills because you save the most $$$

Hey folks, I am getting to work on a US domestic supplier for a long-range fuel tank for the Ranger. I am going to need to show significant interest. The 34 pages of this thread (so far) is a good start but I'll probably try to create some sort of formal survey soon. Stay tuned.

To say the least I'm sure everyone on this form will have immediate interest. Instead of a 34 gallon most people here would probably prefer between a 25 to 30 gallon tank. I already know it is doable it's just getting whatever company to do it

Wondering if dual fuel tanks are a factory option on current T6 Rangers in other markets? The 1983-1988 North American Rangers could be ordered with dual fuel tanks on Supercab and LWB versions. 14.5 gallon tank in the front and a 13 gallon tank in the rear. 1988 Ranger depicted.
